All available evidence suggests that in the US, the Church has done a pretty good job cleaning up it’s act since 2002 with regards to abuse of minors.

The current problem appears to be in the seminaries.

Where I live the abuse problem is very recent. And the incidents and the way they have been handled are inconsistent with finding the Church has corrected not only the abuse but the coverup or lack of vigilance. Scary scary stuff.
 
It never going to go away completely. But the Pennsylvania Grand Jury Report, The list of priests released by many states and diocese so far show very few cases post 2002.

What diocese do you live in?
