Pio,
You look up Shriners Hospital, and tell me thats the work of the devil.
Di.
It’s a good work, I’m told, and if such, then well and good : but we are not judged merely by our works. If any group starts a charity, does that make it holy or good ? The charity may be called good, but not necessarily the ones who are organizing it ; likewise, good men may, quite unintentionally, start bad works or bad charities, which thing does not make them bad, for our works are only indicative of our wills, intentions, etc.
Now, have you ever considered that, while Shriner’s Hospital may be good, and because you believe it is good, you also suspect so must be the Shriner’s ; to return to my point, have you ever wondered if that is the whole point ? But you cannot know whether they be good or not, because you cannot know what they do or get up to or teach or study ; actually, you can know it, and if scrutinizing it in the light of Christ, you should find more than one point of concern as to why supposedly God fearing men would organize thusly, or dabble in such things as Masons do, or worse, profess the things Masons do, like blood-oaths and drafting their own sectarian Ten Commandments, then reversing back-and-forth about the seriousness of such things, as if anything claiming to be an oath or masquerading as Ten Commandments could not be serious for a Christian. But whatever you conclude, if you be Christian, then I hope you know that our Lord Himself is the Way, and the Truth, and the Life : not the Masons or their “craft.”
