Joe Arpaio: Barack Obama birth proof 'may be forged'

The birth certificate of US President Barack Obama could be a forgery, a controversial Arizona sheriff claims.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County - who styles himself as America’s toughest - unveiled the results of a probe into the origins of the document.

His investigators found “probable cause” the certificate may have been made by “forgery and fraud”, he said.

Mr Arpaio, known for his tough stance on immigration, is being investigated over allegations of racial profiling.

The US justice department alleges that his office routinely discriminated against Latinos.

He also faces a federal grand jury investigation into the activities of his anti-corruption unit, and a forthcoming re-election bid in Maricopa County

This sheriff seems to love the spotlight, and appears to be playing tit for tat. Amazing that he can patrol his county and investigate the president too. If I were in their neighboring state, I would confidently bet this investigation will go nowhere.
 
This Cold Case Posse is a volunteer organization made up of ex-Cops, Lawyers, forensic experts, etc.; that is affiliated with the Sheriffs department. I doubt Sheriff Joe spent much personal time at all on this case. He was probably briefed periodically by them.

No official government agency, as far as I know, has investigated any of this.

Much of this has been presented in YouTube videos before and discovered by graphic designers. What was new for me was the whole stamp thing with the draft card.

That’s good to know. I still think Obama should stand or fall based on his merit and record, such as the HHS debacle, not the birther side-show (IMO). Win the hearts and minds of the people to earn elected office. Continually trying to do an end-run around the will of the people seems to cheapen the whole political process.

Agreed.

Even if it can be proven (which I doubt) that he wasn’t born in US he’s still eligible to be president based on legal precedent and current laws. The fact that he is unqualified in some many other ways should be the bigger issue.
 
If he knowingly misrepresented himself to the voting public in order to qualify or even garner votes, he should be removed from office. Even if the deceit was for reasons other than his place of birth. If this is allowed to to go without recourse, we are setting a very dangerous precedent.
 
I thought this topic was banned. Even if it is not, I would think that we as a community could agree to stop advancing this long-debunked and baseless personal attack. There are lots of legitimate issues to discuss about the merits of Obama’s presidency. Garbage like this only serves to distract from the real issues. Of course, distracting from real issues is Arpaio’s goal, and I see no reason why we should cater to that.

Usurping the process from the beginning and being other than what you claim to be cheapens the political process.

Distracting the country from the real issues is Obama’s goal, which is why we are talking about birth control, not the collapsing economy.

I don’t think that there is a person in the country would could seriously make that claim. However, since the people of Maricopa County continue to overwhelmingly reelect Arpaio over and over again, the liberals are trying every other trick in the book to get him out of office, namely a Department of Justice Grand Jury investigation. I mean, who cares what those dumb people of Arizona want, he is a thorn in the side of the Administration and he must be dealt with at all costs.

Its pretty clear that Obama is on Obama’s side, as well. Same can be said of any politician.

I’d like to think that some few of them were also at least trying to be on the side of the people, but, sadly, you are probably correct.

I think the day of politicians serving the will of their constituents has been over for a long time. The power and money of office is too corrupting. maybe at the local level, where the politicians actually have to live in the same neighborhoods as the people they serve. But when they get to Washington, they are so far removed that the separation from their constituents numbs them to their real purpose. I think that Congress should be done virtually, and that the members of the House and Senate should spend 90% of their time living in their districts.

That isn’t likely to happen. The process of removing a President is impeachment. A Democratic US Senate won’t try Obama. Especially in an election year.

The best those who think there is an issue here would get would be to force his removal from the ballot in some States.

Note that Sherrff Joe didn’t accuse Obama of not being a natural born citizen. His group didn’t even look into that issue. They only concentrated on if the documents that were posted were valid or not. They concluded that there is probable cause that they are forgeries. There were no claims that Obama knew they were forgeries when posted or anything like that. In fact, Sheriff Joe specifically spelled out that he was not accusing the President of the crime.

well, if he is making the claim that the release birth certificate is a forgery, the President is culpable, since he was the one who released it. however, knowing how the current President treats situations like this, he will blame it on someone else.

They are not only far removed from their constituents, but they are not bound by the same laws they make for their constituents, i.e. Obamacare.

We don’t know if it actually a forgery or not. We also don’t know if is a forgery if the President knew it was or not.
