No. All he produced are “suspicions,” not facts. There’s a big difference.

Note also his remarks that something “might be” or “may be.” That hedging automatically shows that what he is speaking of doesn’t constitute fact.

Which is why a full on investigation needs to be opened.

If I were innocent, I’d welcome an investigation. Nothing says “screw you” to the opposition like being vindicated.

Of course, if he has nothing to hide, he’d allow this. By his own words he is condemned.

No one is under any obligation outside of that the law demands, to participate in his own investigation.

As an attorney, I can assure you that refusal to testify in one’s own behalf doesn’t constitute admission of guilt. Something called the 5th Amendment, you know.
 
If the Republicans can’t beat this guy on his record then we will know that we have a sorry bunch of Republicans to choose from.

The Birth controversy is as dead as the dust of a horse that died from starvation 50 years ago. Let it be!

Seriously, if it is a forgery then please tell me how a report of Obama’s birth appeared days after his birth in a local newspaper in Hawaii? Let’s focus on the important issues and leave the circus sideshow once and for all!

And as an attorney, you are more than aware that the invoking of the 5th amendment is related to self-incrimination being avoided. Innocent people don’t invoke the 5th amendment. 😉

If the man had nothing to hide he would have welcomed Arpaio’s investigation which was legal and done within the boundaries of the system and office to which he is subject.

He is under no obligation to cater to Arpaio or to anyone else. The American people elected him President and he’s going to win a second term. The tin hat folks can cry in their beers, but no one else cares.

The heck they don’t. Many who invoke the fifth amendment are never adjudged guilty. To change from the legal aspect, let me look to logic. To argue guilt on the basis of no response is an argument from absence, a very weak argument indeed. Not that reporters do not do this in ambush interviews to try and make anyone they do not like look guilty to the masses. A discerning viewer needs to use caution to avoid taking no answer as an answer. As the saying goes, when we assume…
 
“Innocent” men who do not answer due to self-incrimination issues are, by definition, guilty. Are they able to incriminate themselves in innocence? No. They are seeking to not incriminate themselves as guilty.

Are they technically and officially guilty? No, of course not. Are they actually guilty? If they’re pleading the 5th, indeed.

Innocent man: no, I was not there and here is my alibi proof… etc.

Guilty man: I plead the 5th.

Now, as to if Obama is obligated to do something, yes, if subpoenaed, he is. Making evidence available is not testimony. The evidence should absolve him of this charge. But it doesn’t.

No tin foil here, just a man who is sick of seeing his country fall to this man.

How any Catholic can support Obama, I have no idea given his record.

I could really give a flying toot what the American people voted for, or whom, if it is outside of the US Constitution.

Everything I’ve seen points to doubt at the minimum, if not outright fraud on his part.

Oh well, doesn’t matter. Our economy shall collapse anyway and most of his supporters will be dead of starvation or outlaw conditions within weeks.

Those who are left alive shall find themselves at the mercy and altruism of individuals such as myself.

Why? I’m not a nice person in the truly etymological sense of the word.

I would rather ask if Catholics should obey Catholic moral teaching on the Truth. Our political opinions should not be an excuse, for gossip, spreading rumors, calmuny or rash judgement. That is the issue of this thread. Sinning against the truth to remove a president is no more moral than assasination to remove a president, though the latter is a greater moral evil, the former is still immoral.

i don’t think anyone is asking obama to “cater” to arpaio. why are you so sure he is going to win a second term? by calling people “tin hat folks” is very unfair. not all american people elected him president and not all of the american people plan to vote for him come this november. i am not counting on this issue to be the downfall of our president. i feel as an american voter i deserve to know the truth about the man who is holding the highest office in our land. when obama was elected i told myself i would give him the benefit of the doubt and give him a chance to prove himself. in my opinion, he has not been good for our country in many ways. obama will work very hard these next 8 months to win a second term. it doesn’t do any good to attack americans by calling them “tin hat folks” and make fun of them for wanting answers.

I would rather say that I am surprised Catholics so readily abandon Catholic teaching on Truth to engage in rumor-mongering.

The weird thing is, the same people who will blithely repeat unfounded rumors about the president, are so touchy about what they are called. When opposing such behavior becomes a sign of political ‘support’ for the president, then it is time to review the rules on basic human interactions.
 
I believe reports on Obama birth certificate authenticity are proportional to economic development. Currently trying to complete regression analysis with GDP.

Please don’t assume that people who aren’t necessarily into where the President was born are Obama supporters. There are enough areas where he can be more justifiably criticized as President.
