why are you so sure he is going to win a second term?
One look at his base, the energy of his volunteers, his message, and mostly by the very poor opposition he’s going to face.
by calling people “tin hat folks” is very unfair.
Not at all. The “birthers” and the Area 52 folks and such are defintely tin hat types in my opinion.

Funny you should say that. The tone and nature of much of his opposition is what made me convinced he was going to win last time…

And convinces me that he will win this time. While The GOP candidates are out there going at each other fiercely, Obama’s team is quietly lining up grassroots support.

Not to imply that he’s a shoe-in, but I don’t see - at this point - that he can be defeated.

Obama ran on a very positive message as a concilliator who wanted to bring the country together and “heal the wounds of political antagonism”. Well, he can’;t run on that anymore. He has been the most antagonistic, divisive president in our history. It can very accurately been said that he has actively strived to be the President of the Democrat Americans, and he has worked feverishly to act against the interests of conservatives/Republicans.

Not just conservative republicans who ever they are? Those who do not want to see the country turned into Greece.

I respect your opinion. However, I’m of the opinion that his message will not be nearly as important as what is thrown at him. Given that some of the more passionate segments of his opposition can’t appear to control themselves, I see the outcome as pretty much decided - but I could be dead wrong…

i think there will be a strong base, lots of energy among volunteers and a good message from the right also. plus, there are many independents who aren’t happy with obama and don’t want to see him win a second term.

i put obama supporters in the group titled “kool-aid” drinkers.

Where on this thread has anyone supported Obama, or are you just assuming?

I would rather say that I am surprised Catholics so readily abandon Catholic teaching on Truth to engage in rumor-mongering.
it is pretty easy to tell which ones are the obama supporters- especially after being on CAF for more than a couple of years.

Keep up the over confidence. I like that in a political opponent. 👍

I’m with you there.

The big problem is when these people who live for these rumors are disproved, their credibility is somewhat tarnished and it makes the object that much stronger. The Donald can give us all a lesson there.

Let’s stick to what we do know.

Are you running as well in the election? Hats off to you, then.
No. That was a dumb question, Rich. Obama supporters are political opponents of Republican voters. I’m sure you knew what I meant.

I will be campaigning for my candidate, and pro-choice voting Catholic Democrats will be campaigning for their candidate, as usual.

I will be campaigning for a group of us to just up and move to Costa Rica. 👍

I believe you about as much as I believed the liberals who claimed they would leave the country if Bush was reelected in 2004. You will still be here in all your grumpy glory. 😉 😃

I already have property there.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abortion_in_Costa_Rica

“Abortion in Costa Rica is severely restricted. Currently, abortions are allowed only in order to preserve the life or physical health of the mother. Abortions are illegal in cases of rape or incest, when the unborn child suffers from medical problems or birth defects, for social reasons, and for economic reasons. Abortions are not available on demand, with no reason given. Currently, it is unclear whether or not abortions are legal to preserve the mental health of the mother.”

Induced abortion is classified as a crime in the Penal Code of 1970, included in the crimes against life.

Well, in that case, how much acreage do you own? Do you have room for a renter? 😛
