So, when he said, “George”, he was addressing Lopez, not referring to anybody else with the name George.
So when he said "What kind of a country are we gonna be? - Four more years of George ah… George ah he ah … " You are telling me that Joe Biden was referencing that “George” to the interviewer? Because I listened to the video multiple times trying to hear that possibility - but no … he forgot who he was running against - could not remember “Trump” to place it in that sentience …He was not addressing the interviewer …

Now perhaps - the reason he said George was because he had just heard the interviewers name and that was what came to his mind in that moment of loss … possibly

With memory issues like Dementia and Alzheimer - most cant remember current events/names but can remember the past … which would lend credence to the reference being Bush …

Either way - it was a confused reference to who he is running against - a memory lapse and not that he was addressing the interviewer

I haven’t really cosidered voting for Biden for President, but I’m starting to like the idea … a little bit.

As a cartoon with a gaffing Biden character –

running the free world while raining down malaprops like Archie Bunker …

… and plunging headlong into complicated foreign dealings with the vision and prudence of Mr. Magoo speeding to the rescue in his ancient but hard driven vehicle.

Saturday morning cartoon for kids. 😫

I think the gaffes are funny.

We all do it.

I think he’s tired. I’m 63 and in pretty good health (trying to recover from my knee replacement surgery), but I am SO TIRED all the time! I think that the COVID imprisonment is a lot of the reason for my exhaustion–every day seems the same. Get up at 7:00 a.m., check out CAF, exercise my knee, eat, shower, ice my knee, go to work for a half day, work my butt off because we are short-staffed, drive home, make a sandwich, ice my knee while falling asleep watching TV, wake up and check out CAF. fix something cheap for supper, eat the supper, wash the dishes, ice my knee while watching TV, watch TV until 9:00 p.m., go to bed because I’m falling asleep watching TV.

Sometimes I vary things up by practicing piano (can’t really play organ yet because of my knee/pedals). Sometimes I read a magazine–these are the Golden Days! If I try reading a book, I fall asleep.

I’m really looking forward to Halloween tomorrow because I’m planning on carving a pumpkin! And my husband and I plan on making Reuben Dip and eating it while we watch the door for trick or treaters who will probably not show up–between the COVID-19 fears and the Trunk or Treats and the kids all going to the “rich neighborhoods,” we are lucky if we get even one group of kids. But maybe, oh maybe, this year will be different. We still don’t know how we can pass out candy without touching it. I’m actually considering buying bags of candy, and just giving any trick-or-treaters an entire unopened bag of candy! Of course, then the word would get texted around and everyone will come to our house, so that won’t work. OR…no one will come, and my husband and I will have dozens of bags of candy to eat over the next few boring months of imprisonment.

Sigh. I hate COVID.

VP Biden recently stated, “I’m not going to shut down the economy, I’m going to shut down the virus.”

Since I can’t start a new topic here in News, I would like a V.P Biden supporter to comment on this and possibly provide some links to articles with specifics.

Can you summarize how is he going to “shut down the virus?” Or perhaps you can link me to his “Plan,” and perhaps comment on how it differs from Pres. Trump’s efforts?

And just what exactly does “shut down the virus” mean? Flatten the curve (again?) Distribute the vaccine? Herd immunity? Destroy the virus? Get us back to living a large life again instead of “sheltering in place?”

He does realize, doesn’t he, that we will never ever rid the earth of COVID-19–it will hang around forever, just like the various influenzae viruses are still with us, lurking and seeking out susceptible people to infect. I assume he realizes this–a high school science student realizes this.

I’ll be honest in advance–I think Joseph Biden is full of it. But you’re welcome to try to prove me wrong/correct my misconceptions about the COVID-19. I’m not stupid–if Joseph Biden truly has a superior plan to rid us of the threat of contracting/dying of COVID-19, I’m thrilled and would be happy to sing his praises and put up his picture in our microbiology lab with a sign that says, “Our Hero!”

And I’ll be honest again–I have already voted for Pres. Trump and VP Pence, so nothing you say will change my mind about my vote. Too late

BUT…if Biden/Harris win, you might be able to make me feel better about having this team running our country–IF he really has a viable plan for “shutting down the virus.” That would be awesome. I want very much to see life return to some semblance of normal, and people to be able to stop fearing for their lives everytime they go out their door.

Thanks

Probably shut it down the same way he promises to cure cancer, get rid of it…

And then people like you who “don’t want insurance” go to the emergency room and leave the rest of us with the bill anyhow.

@Jeanne_S on Biden’s claim if elected President, “We will cure cancer” (after being in office for 47 years with plenty of cancer).
Probably shut it down the same way he promises to cure cancer, get rid of it…
Jeanne_S. You beat me to it!

The ACA raised rates so much that people were paying 1/3 or more of their incomes for health insurance.

They should have looked into the multiple reasons costs are so high in the US and come up with plans for reducing those costs.

And then they could have come up with a plan to cover more people, which would have cost a lot less.

I just wonder if he was thinking of George Bush too, while saying it, or if he was thinking of Trump and mistakenly calling him George. If he was thinking George Bush, then that would be a really, really bad thing.

…Unfortunately, we’ll never really know.
