Joe Biden claimed on Sunday that, by the time he would be done speaking, 200 million Americans will have died from the coronavirus.

My guess CNN, MSNBC, etc. will be refusing to cover these bizarre mistakes. But maybe I am wrong. At least back in June USA Today covered Biden saying over 120 million people died from corona virus (he corrected himself [?] later – or more likely, his handlers via the teleprompter corrected him).

They want to cover-up the fact that the Democrats are putting forth a candidate with obvious dementia.

Thank goodness for alternative news. Especially Breitbart.

Honestly, this is a simple mis-speak. He obviously meant 200 thousand.

I have found nothing about the Biden campaign to like. But this isn’t a campaign issue.

Yes that’s what I thought too.

The problem (at least in my opinion) Jon is two-fold.

One. The pattern of this occurring. Not just “The Daily Joe” for bizarre ststements, but even with COVID numbers he has gotten them wrong by a magnitude of ten BEFORE too.

Two. The lack of display of common sense. In a country of 300 million (about 330 million), you would think when that number (200 million) creeps up from wherever to his Betz cells, there would be an immediate common-sense, “Hold it!” on this 200 million number in his brain. Evidently there wasn’t.

I virtually always agree with you on these things JonNC, but on this one, we are respectfully divergent.

Joe told us if he was elected, he would cure cancer.
I think he better get to work on curing dementia.

I feel bad about Joe’s “issues”,
but he has no business being in political leadership.

That’s up to the people to decide. My point is running against Biden’s gaffes won’t win.
Running against what he actually means will.
Running against his duplicity and hypocrisy will.
His ACA has caused healthcare prices to skyrocket.
He has spent 47years damaging social security by robbing the trust fund.

If there is institutional racism, that clearly means he’s done nothing in 47 years to fix it.
Either he is incompetent or complicit.

There are many more of these types of issues.

I think I’ve made the same mistake although million and billion mistakes are probably more common with me.
 
He’s obviously having some difficulties, but in the end it won’t matter, because the anti-Trump contingent would vote for a gerbil if it was opposing Trump.
 
This exposes the hate-America media’s double standard. They have to invent things that Trump said, using “unnamed sources”, and then they go on and on about it for days.

With Biden, his gaffes happen on a daily basis, and the hate-America media mostly lets Biden coast.

It was based on a lie.

It was the “Very fine people” dishonest spoof about Trump and Charlottesville.

I wrote about it and critiqued it here at CAF.

I remember thinking that if they have to INVENT things that President Trump did to oppose him, Trump must be doing a lot of things right.

President Trump has waaay surpassed my expectations.

Last time (2016) after the primary up until just before the general, I voted for Trump basically against Hillary.

(Toward the end before the general last time Trump secured my vote by taking on a TV panel that attempted to have him get squishy on pro-life issues.
Trump refused to “get squishy” on pro-life issues even though it probably cost him votes. And that is the first time I recall thinking that I believe him.
It would have been much easier to “get squishy” and pander to the actresses and the crowd.
But he didn’t.
He WANTS to Make America Great Again.
And he is willing to fight back for the right things.
He doesn’t bat a thousand, but nobody does.)

Since then President Trump has earned my respect several times over.

This time (2020) I will enthusiastically vote for Trump based upon FOR TRUMP.

I considered that too. Especially before what I saw with the pro-life dialogue.

I have done that before too. I supported Alan Keyes and other fine candidates in past elections. (I had a family member that even worked on Keyes campaign.)

Trump has turned out to be a diamond in the rough that really pleasantly surprised me.

It is all rather predictable. For example, Biden has two ads running about Social Security. Nothing new there, as they trot out the “Republicans will take your social security“ lie Every four years.
The first one says that payroll taxes pay for 50% of social security payments.
Wait! Stop! Why only 50%? Because Democrats decided decades ago to steal from the trust fund, which now consists of federal IOU’s. Biden has helped this happened His entire time in Washington.
The next one says Trump’s payroll tax relief plan will end benefits by 2023. A despicable lie meant to scare people my age and older.
 
Yes. It won’t gut social security. Social Security has not been dependent on FICA taxes for over a generation, and FICA taxes have not been protected for Social Security in over 50 years.

Social Security will not be gutted because there is no trust fund to gut.

There is a replacement source of revenue. It’s called the general fund. Biden himself admits in his ad that 50% doesn’t come from payroll taxes. Where do you presume it comes from?

The answer is that the federal government has borrowed all of that trust fund money and spent it, exactly as Krauthammer asserted. And the only way the trust fund can get some cash to pay Social Security benefits is if the federal government draws it from general revenues or borrows the money.

By the way, this article is 10 years old. The trust fund did not grow real Assets in the last ten years.
