False, historically Americans have used tight border controls to force foreigners to integrate after a wave of immigration. Even so, they still brought problems.

At the end of the day, the only people benefiting from mass immigration are the Democrats and ensuring the opposition never regains power is only practical.

I’m not sure it’s obvious that there is a direct relationship between immigration and low wages like this. There would have to be a surplus of workers to bring down wages generally, and immigration could only contribute insofar as it leads to this.

I’m not saying they’re unrelated, but the way it’s normally posited seems incomplete.

If power is your concern, then opposing immigration makes sense.
If renewal of markets and market opportunity is your goal, America’s future has always been renewed with immigration. Investment in families in general is a net negative in terms of tax money flow. More so with immigrants. The return comes later in tax payers, of children. Consumerism is renewed in their investment in their own children… And jobs like piecemeal renumerated fruit picking , or as servants , and similar, are occupied by people grateful for the move up and opportunity. Most immigrants are people who already have a quality to uproot and take a chance. They have always been this way.

Trump’s nationalism has nothing to do with good paying jobs.
Before the Governors started shutting down businesses, President Trump’s economy averaged the lowest unemployment rate of any President in the last 60 years (average of 4.1% in 2017, 3.9% in 2018, 3.5% in 2019).

And the stock market repeatedly set record highs, including in February 2020.

I dont know anyone who is against immigration.

Some if us want more immigration than others, but that is a discussion reasonable people can have.

The real problem we have is ILLEGAL immigration, and the one political party who seems to encourage it. Meanwhile their shills come on the media (both mainstream and discussion boards) and muddy the waters by talking about how un-American it is to not want immigration.

There is a big difference between LEGAL and ILLEGAL immigration.

Hey Dvd…is THIS inflammatory
IMO, no. Nor is the one it responded to.
Or is it ok because it is insulting to conservatives?
See above.

The real problem is that the way that the Trump administration has approached the problem, including his intervention against a good bi-partisan bill from Congress.

Biden is taking a different path. Most candidates go toward the center on political issues when the election is close. Biden is instead going far to the extreme left.

Because in fact, Trump’s policies are fairly centrist.
Biden goes left to differentiate.

For those who want to talk as if the United States is “evil” regarding “man-made” climate change, and who think the Green New Deal is necessary:

“The United States saw the largest decline in energy-related CO2 emissions in 2019 on a country basis,” the International Energy Agency (IEA) reported. And the United States had the largest absolute decline by any country since 2000.

The IEA also noted that 80% of the increase in CO2 emissions came from Asia and that China and India both contributed significantly to the increase.

(Notice that leftists who say that they are concerned about carbon emissions rarely blame China or India, the biggest offenders, for carbon emissions. Kind of appears that they have a different agenda.)

Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s former chief of staff Saikat Chakrabarti admitted that the true motivation behind introducing the Green New Deal is to overhaul the “entire economy.”

Chakrabarti said that addressing climate change was not Ocasio-Cortez’s top priority in proposing the Green New Deal during a meeting with Washington governor Jay Inslee.
“The interesting thing about the Green New Deal, is it wasn’t originally a climate thing at all,” Chakrabarti said to Inslee’s climate director, Sam Ricketts, according to a Washington Post reporter who attended the meeting for a profile.

“Do you guys think of it as a climate thing?” Because we really think of it as a how-do-you-change-the-entire-economy thing,” he added.

All told, the proposal will cost up to $93 trillion in new government spending over ten years, according to a recent report by the conservative American Action Forum.
