- Also what does this mean about many other people and religions who do not believe in Jesus even after hearing about Him? Jesus’ statement would seem to indicate that they are condemned, but I don’t think the Church teaches that. How are we to understand this?
****I am aware what the Church is teaching Greg. But that would have to be understood in the context it is intended. Otherwise why would there be a reference in the Bible or a point in fact, to the prediction that the end will not come until the Gospel has been taken to all the peoples on the Earth. What would be the point if all that was required of us is a moral life style? I do not believe (again, no pun) that those who already know about Christ and his message (as I have some very worthy but self proclaimed atheist friends) would fall into this category at all. No, it would not include the Dalai Lama either, no matter how clean he lives or how enlightened he becomes. He is a self proclaimed atheist. He is also very well educated and he knows more about Christianity than perhaps you and me. Yet he rejects it. These people are all aware, including my friends, yet they fully reject the Gospel. No matter how decent they are in this life, they will most assuredly burn in hell, unless they reverse their unbelief before they die. ************
