This might be fun for Hagee fans here:

rollingstone.com/politics/story/20278737/jesus_made_me_puke/print

Warning the title seems blasphemous but reading the text your will find why is so literal.

We Catholics are posseds by the demons of Philosophy and Intellectualism, I wonder when they will exorcise people for stupitidy?
had i been there the noises alone would have been enough to make me get ill.the speaking in tongues part though is something that i have experienced in the way the author did.but i sincerely wanted to though.

As a catholic who has watched Hagee for many years I say that the man is being driven by pure Christian motive.

He is, in the manner of his tradition of Christian faith, confessing out loud his sin.

Like all of us, he needed to learn a few things about the “other side”. And he found himself wanting.

When we form opinions, our family history, our education, our culture, our country, our language, our personal misadventures, our sin, our triumphs, our faith in Jesus Christ, or not, all play a roll. It makes us human.

Hagee is but one human, sometimes right, sometimes wrong, but he is still a Christian. Perhaps a better Christian for this experience.

Might be helpful to read the 3 articles posted today on catholic.org

Well DoxieMom, I will be give you credit for being optimistic.

I on the other hand am pessimistic. I think it is just a political move. He’s been anti-catholic for a long time. The proof of his repentativeness will be seen in future speakings from the pew and books.

If he is truely repentive, then he will recall some of his books that are still on the market that are blatantly anti-catholic.

Future actions(works) will either justify him or condemn him.

I try for the better angels in all of us.

I promise you, I will let you know if he goes the extra mile.

My bet, he will.

He will humble himself because he fears God.

As we all should.

This man or men like him are the reason I converted. Too bad we can’t stone him. That would be futile. At the same time, it would be nice if he had a conversion, like the one Paul had on the road. Not a bright light like the one that hit him but something similar 🙂 🙂 would be nice. 😃

Yet again this is a ploy, he believes that the Catholic Church is continuing the worship of bread as did anciety pagan religions, Marian worship as Bahal religion etc. Somewhat like Dave Hunt.

His apology has been a subject in just about all the boards and forums I’ve read today. I’m probably way too jaded and cynical to believe this is nothing but a political move. I truly don’t believe he was never that naive to believe what he said wasn’t “anti-Catholic” nor that he’s had a change of heart.

Though stranger things have happened. We’ll see how this plays out and what he does and says in the future.

He never really offended me personally as a Cathlic, as what he said and his kind, is nonsense and just plain stupid. Still what troubles me is that he and his kind have such great influence that others believe him and repeat the nonsense. That’s when it gets troublesome.

I’ll be willing to wait to see what he says in future books. His views, BTW, are just loud, obnoxious versions of IVY league
slanders of Catholicism.

I always wonder why Jesus doesn’t intervene like that anymore.

QUoting the Yahoo article above:
"In a letter to William Donohue, president of the Catholic League for Civil and Religious Rights, Hagee wrote: “Out of a desire to advance a greater unity among Catholics and evangelicals in promoting the common good, I want to express my deep regret for any comments that Catholics have found hurtful.”

I only see him admitting his statements were hurtful, and that he doesn’t recant anything he said negatively about the Catholic Church. Sounds more like the kid that got caught with his hand in the cookee jar and he was sorry he got caught.

When I was in the Southern Baptist church (I came into the RC Easter 2006) I had heard that it was “ok to lie to Catholics because they were not Christians”. Maybe that is the intent.

If he comes out saying all the things he said are lies and wrong and based on bigotry and ignorance toward Catholics and Catholics are dear sweet people and Christians just the same , then I would be impressed. But that’s not coming anytime soon.

Hagee and Jimmy Swagart and Jim Bakker. Pillars of Protestentism. Makes me want to vote for who they endorse.

What if those guys have repented, apologized, and clarified their sins? Does grace not play into your opinions? Based on the sins of so many popes I could say the same to many catholics who follow the pope, but then again you wouldn’t like too much , would you?

Popes that sinned are long dead. These guys are still alive. If they have truely repented, they will recall all books written that have anti-catholic hatred or propaganda in them. The proof is in the pudding.

Recall all books that insult you? You call for the same of the books that are anti-protestant and we will discuss your idea. How about telling the ignorant people who wrote them to get rid of them. Death is not an excuse for analyzing a sin and effects regardless of what dead pope committed them. Their mistakes can still be seen as a stain on the catholic image, which many people very ignorantly do. And who are you to put parameters on people for proving to you that they have repented? Is that not God’s job?

Hagee and Donahue met face to face . See catholic.org

Hagee is pre-tribulation ( which our church does not lean to, but does not condemn either), so the man believes in an anti-christ and that there will be an apostate church. Someday, someone, to war and not to bend and worship, will be met with a glorious Jesus, coming upon the clouds of Heaven, on a horse with His armies behind Him. And someday, some people, will make up the great Whore. They will come from all walks of life. Perhaps they will follow a leader who sets up his command in Rome, even in, God help us, a captured Vatican.

While it is hard to hear these things, we, as confident catholics, should be able to distinquish between christians who will meet with the Lord either after death or the great snatching up, or those who betray themsleves in so much sin that they are only sleazy mock believers, who would give their souls over to the devil.

And as catholics, we must accept that some of these folks will
be “catholic” .

I really think that Hagee will address this is a useful forum, be it TV or book. I do not think he is an evil man.

And you shall know them by their fruit. But I really doubt any Catholic has called any Protestant Church the “The Anti-Christ” or “The Whore of Babylon” If there are any Catholics that have made such a claim (which I doubt there is) then those books should be recalled.

Anymore stupid remarks?
