Well, if you know that Catholicism is the true faith, and you are not converting to it…
I don’t know. And it would take a whole lot to make me convert to it due to the years of protestant indoctrination I’ve been privy to.
If you do not think that Catholicism is right, or understand the Catholic Faith, but you try to do the will of God, you most certainly are not anathema.
Thank you. Even if I didn’t try to do the will of God I would not be anathema though as you said below that it is no longer in practice. But then could you tell me why it’s no longer in practice if it was a doctrine held (but no longer is) by the source of complete truth
However, Protestantism is a heresy, and is to be treated as such. It began when Martin Luther rebeled against the Pope, he was unable to seperate the corruptness of the members of the Church with the purity of the Church her self.
**Then that would make the people who are Protestants out to be heretics then? Luther didn’t rebel against the Pope so much as the Pope rebelled against God. Luther tried to reform the Catholic church; to get it back to basics. When it became apparent he was not going to succeed, he left it thus being a cog in the start of the Protestant Reformation. **
I absolutely do not think you are anathema. Unless you are avoiding the full truth on purpose.
**Thank you.

Can I be confident that the RCC has the full truth when they change their doctrines over and over? I’ve seen a list of changed doctrines in the RCC but I would have to find it again. **
Anathema is no longer in practice. So you are not anathema. But you are obligated to get close to the truth…
I think.
That’s good to hear. So if I look in vatican 2 it won’t call me anathema? sigh of relief

As for truth I always want to be close to Him (Jesus). In the process I am greatly interested in learning about Catholicism from Catholics themselves instead of from all the verbiage I’ve grown accustomed to from my Protestant friends. Hope you have a Happy New Year.**
