There’s a grain (or truckload) of truth to every glib comment. I tend to think [the latter in this case](

Mr. Cronkite’s sneering at the Biblical prophesy that all Christians adhere to, make his attitude self-evident.

Well, yeah, that’s where Walt is, gladly sitting next to Satan, doing his job as part of the NWO.

But is this really news - that MSM = fool control?

Of course, if you disagree, then keep watching TV and don’t worry - your government will protect you (Haw Haw).

There is no prophesy about one world government (or a “new world order”). Even respectable private prophesy does not mention anything about this - it is a speculation of how the anti-Christ scenario will play out, but it is certainly not the only speculation possible.

Also, where are the quoted remarks in the clip? It’s rather long and I’d like to fast forward to that part.

I do not know of any teaching in the Catechism which indicates that a single world government is a part of the end times. So I am not sure how it can be considered something held as anything more than a theory of some Christians.

Of course, I think that Cronkite has some real problems in his reasoning. In particular, he has a very unrealistic understanding of war. It is not as if people who want a strong defense necessarily want to have to fight. In my time as the son of a (now retired) USAF officer, I have never met a military person who wanted to go to war. But the fact is that some people do want to use violence as a means of their own gain - whether it be a political movement or a tyrant’s regime. Such people obviously will not accept a peaceful solution unless it involves them getting whatever they demand. So being able to use force to defend ourselves becomes necessary if we do not want to be at the mercy of the violence of those with evil intent.

At any rate, I really doubt that we are much closer to a world government, for all of Cronkite’s support of it.

Now…I don’t like the mainstream media and I don’t really trust them. This is because they clearly work on the side of secularism and modernism. They are active in promoting depravity in our society. However, I do not think there is a conspiracy going on. Their social and political leanings are pretty much out in the open.

I did watch the video here and to be honest I am not sure where the idea of a global conspiracy is proven. As far as I can tell, the theme of the new “order” is the idea that it is more beneficial to do business than to make war. Is there something wrong with that?

Free trade is not a secret goal. It is a common element of modern economic thought. I learned about free trade in my basic economics courses in college. There are a lot of people who are proponents of it because of the economic theory behind it. The idea that an economy benefits from allowing market forces to work with minimal interference is not really radical.

Anyway, it’s not much of a conspiracy if they televise it 😉
