John Paul II beatification could be possible in 2011
Rome, Italy, Jan 5, 2011 / 01:00 am (CNA).- Pope John Paul II could be beatified in 2011, Vatican expert Andrea Tornielli is reporting.
In the Jan. 4 edition of the Italian newspaper Il Giornale, he reports that medical advisers of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints have ruled favorably on a miracle attributed to John Paul II’s intercession. The documentation has also passed the scrutiny of theologians.
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees!

When Pope John Paul II was in Canada, I watched the feed over the Canadian channel, from EWTN. That evening I was healed. I just want to post this here because, it was a miracle in his lifetime. I believe that the healing came from God, but, precipitated from this viewing and the subsequent viewing of the EWTN feed. Naturally, someone was there, my mom. I had a respiratory problem after cleaning the garage that day! I wrote to our cable provider, and, then the k of c had campaign which worked. So, from then on it was very good.

Last night, I believe that I had a visit from the Pope, and I don’t think I was the only one. I was near a tabernacle, and watching a tv which had EWTN on every channel. He gave me a message about my father, who is undergoing tests. Dad is on the prayer list at our parish, and, I keep a holy hour.

Only today did I hear the news on Fox, and, so I thought that others might have similar stories!

The Venerable John Paul II was truly a living saint, what where you healed of?

I’m waiting for the Blessed Joseph Vaz to become canonized, he performed miracles while alive, me being related to him has nothing to do with it…

When Pope JPII visited Ireland in 1979, my parents waited all night in Ballybrit to see him, even though there was heavy drizzly rain on the day. They hung the papal flag from the upstairs window of their home. When they arrived home, they happen to notice that the colours on the flag had ran into each other because of the rain, and it looked vaguely like an image of the face Christ, all the surrounding neighbours flags were intact! We have it as a keepsake!

Hi Blue Sapphire.
A very good story indeed! I visited the Phoenix Park on that memorable day of Pope John Paul II visit. Over a million people were there!
It is truly great news about his impending sainthood. This brilliant man continues to influence a spiritually-hungry world.
God Bless,
Colmcille.

Te Deum Laudamus! I am soooo happy to hear this! :extrahappy:

I saw him ‘in person’ four times in my life, once as Cardinal Wojtyla when he came to Philly in 1976 for the Eucharistic Congress (I went on a bus trip headed by a local priest who was a seminary classmate of his in Poland), and three times as Pope John Paul II in Rome (1979, 1981, 1983). I got a great snapshot of him going by in the Popemobile in 1979!

Joan was talking about his beatification now on icatholic radio. May first.

Wish I could be there. More than any other Pope (even though I’m of Italian descent) he is “my” Pope.

Why the rush for beatification?
Not sure if it’s a sense of “rush” is my guess.
I do expect that his Positio was presented, accepted and the first miracle verified more quicker than others because of the great degree of support from all over the world.

There are a variety of things that play into how any one cause thru the process. One of them is the degree of support.

I am so glad I will be there for his beatification. How fortunate I feel.
God Bless “Wujek”

THis was the first miracle I heard of for John Paul ll that was used for his road to sainthood.

I always find this kind of exciting but kind of silly also. John Paul is a saint to me, what we do on earth, means nothing to God, John Paul ll is what he is with our Lord, no matter what we do…whether someone admits a miracle of any of that. We do this for us, not the person involved. It makes it seem like we direct someone’s soul or “level of grace”…or maybe I’m overthinking again. 🙂

Beg to differ 😉

There are so many deserving people that did wonderful things on earth, they aren’t always made “saints” that we pray too or have prayer cards, but this is all for us, God already knows what the person is, if he was a true saint, if people lied or he/she did even more than we know, the pomp and celebration is for our faith, but not for the person.
How sad then,if we did control anything, that so many unknown saints, don’t have all the fuss for them.

I prayed to John Paul ll and he helped me back to the church when he died, but whether he is made a saint or not, he is to me. 😉

I think it is way too soon to get him beatified. An action like this will further alienate groups that are ‘non una cum’ like SSPX et al. 🤷

I think this is being rushed!. It took many Saints decades to become Blessed. My opinion!.
