I must start off by saying I’ve never been so appalled by the secular media (Can you tell I don’t watch TV often?).

Why would it be the Holy Father’s fault for other people’s choices? The Holy Father would tell us to not have sex at all until we become married! But no, obviously our idiot friends in the media think that it’s HIS fault… how dare they! After being so reverent of him as his final minutes ticked away, this is what they do to him???

We don’t think contraceptives are the answer. We think abstinence is the answer. Everyone else thinks that we are on drugs for thinking that. Why? Even at 15 I find restraint to having sex whenever I feel the “urge”.

Doesn’t it seem logical to these people that not having sex at all would probably be more effective to stopping AIDS than having sex with latex in the way? These people need to dig their heads out of their butts.

They only focus on a small part of the message. A fundamental teaching of the Catholic Church and the Pope is, “don’t have sex outside of marriage”. If people followed that basic teaching, the spread of HIV would be much less, condoms or no condoms. But that’s probably just another example of vile, medieval backwards thinking.

Exactly, they will equiate the lack of condom usage to Catholic teaching, yet Catholic teaching prohibits sex outside of marriage. Of course, people don’t want to hear that because people want to do what they want to do.

This article just seems to be peppered with hatred and very little (if no) scientific research.
 
Do these people have any sense of logic? And I am not trying to insult them. Really.

Ok, the Church is opposed to premarital sex and any sexual acts outside of marriage. The Church is also opposed to contraception.

So, these smart liberals are telling us - the Africans who are engaging in “free love”/rape/etc are not putting on condoms so that they can follow the teachings of the Catholic Church. :whacky:

She’s not just unpopular with practising catholics.The poor soul has to take a lot of beatings,though i don’t hear much sympathy for her.Except from the BBC who seem to make a habit of dredging her up for any political opinions.I’ve noticed TV Presenters seem to regularly invite their journalistic pals on their programme,even though the subjects to be aired have no connection with their particular expertise.Their opinions are no more valuable than anyone else’s.

These accusations are so white-bread, racist, middle-class, and Western. A huge contribution to AIDS in Africa has been war-rape. Obviously part of giving the command for war-rape has been genocidal in nature: to spread AIDS among vulnerable populations. War-rapists are not going to don condoms to do their nefarious deeds.
 
Of course, if you mentioned to these same talking (or screeching) heads that millions of human beings had been actively and wantonly murdered through abortion, they would tell you that was entirely different. :ehh:

Well, abortion is the Pope’s fault, too! No condoms-woman gets pregnant-then aborts the baby.

I would like to see scientific studies saying exactly how AIDS is normally contracted in Africa. I suspect without the studies, we can all hypothosize all month.
 
JP2 = mass murderer? i could feel my i.q. level dropping, just reading through this kind of logic.

A scientific study would be a good step forward. However the war-rape phenomenon has been well documented (clinically) by medical workers in Africa.
 
I have to laugh…or else I’ll cry. I just don’t understand it. I hope I never will. The only thing I can do is shake my head and pray for these poor misguided, ignorant, hateful, willful, arrogant souls (Oh yeah…and myself too for getting so annoyed by them). I often wonder how much God’s heart breaks when He hears this kind of nasty drivel. I also wonder where the straw that breaks the camel’s back is. How much farther can we as a race sink before God says enough.

When I read that OP this passage came to mind. Its sad they dont know what good and evil really are becase they dont have Jesus. Anything the Church tries to do will be looked at as evil even if it is actually good.
 
If the people would do what the Catholic Church says, there would be AIDS in Africa. But there are such lies.

Here’s the situation these loonies imagine: Some guy decides to hire one of the prostitutes that hangs around his mining camp. As he is about to have sex with her, he says to himself, “wait, JPII said son’t use a condom” so then he sleeps with the prostitute without using a condom and contracts AIDS. All JPII’s fault:tsktsk: .
 
This is just more anti-catholic drivel from the usual suspects. Total nonsensical blathering. The good thing is that we’re wise to it.

If you read the entire TCS article, linked to in the OP, you’ll see that the article actually SUPPORTS the Church’s position vis-a-vis condoms and the AIDS problem in Africa. It cites the instance of Uganda, which promotes abstinence first and condoms as a last resort and has an AIDS rate of only 4%. Incidentally, Uganda is almost 50% Catholic. As the Ugandan president noted, he lives in a country where some women have to travel 5 miles just to get water. What is the likelihood they would have condoms available immediately? This guy just trots out the accusers first before demolishing their arguments.

Read the article more carefully folks…

Along with the no condom use he also said no sex outside of marriage. If there were no sex outside marriage AIDS would be cured in one generation.
