It was a prophecy of Christ, used to show the Apostles that He was a true prophet, since they still doubted him. It also shows that even though Judas was a blessed with Heavenly gifts as any of the others, he lost everything due to his carrying out evil against Christ - his betrayal.
ok, gotcha. Tha is one of the disagreements I have been having with my wife. She thinks that once you’re saved thats it. I think you can “blow it”. The prophecy thing now makes sense.
It is a quite new idea in Christianity that once you are saved, you are always saved (OSAS), and some no-denominational churches believe that you cannot do anything to lose your salvation. This is 100% against scripture, and is proven false by the words of Christ Himself.
