He is a baptised Catholic and therefore he is not Jewish according to Catholic law and we are now discussing this in a Catholic forum.

Nope,she’s still Jewish.

When she turns 12 THEN she can be religiously Catholic BUT even then she’ll still be Jewish by heritage.

I don’t think I am wrong according to Catholic law, since this has been proven by a historical case which occurred under Pope Pius IX.
If the baptised Jewish boy in this case, was not a Catholic but a Jew, why was he taken from his Jewish parents ? The fact is that the Church considered him to be a Catholic.

St Edith Stein was born a Jew,became Catholic while an adult and became a full habit nun.I have a picture her over my desk.Because she was still a Jew(once a Jew always a Jew)and despite her baptism confirmation and being a full member of her order of nuns she was taken to Aushcwits and murdered for her Jewishness.

He WAS CATHOLIC but still hebrew or a Jew.It’s like saying because I am a Catholic I can’t br Irish,or Canadian ,or Latvian.IT’s more of a race issue than a religious one but don’t forget “Salvation comes from the Jews”.Guess who said that?

He was a Jewish child who was kidnapped from his parents,baptised and raised Catholic by the pope all of which is reprehensible when viewed by 21st century eyes but the kid was still a Jew.He obviously practised Catholicism and not Judaism but was still a jew.When the chief rabbi of rome converted to Catholicism partially out of gratutude to Pius xii and the Church saving 800’000+Jews,he practised Catholicism and not Judaism,but he was still a Jew…

Sir you need a history lesson.

By 1858 the Papal security had kidnapped many Jewish children and forced them to learn Catholicism against their will.In 1858 Edargo Montaro was kidnapped after the baptism and was also forced to learn and adhere to Catholicism.

Pope Pius IX told the parents of these children that they could have them back ONLY if they ceremonially converted and adhered to Catholicism.

They still recognized him as being Jewish because they put him in the House of Catacumins used to “cleanse” Muslim and Jewish kids of their religion.

This would have never happened outside of The Papal States which the Catholic Church governed.The Papal State was very anti-semitic and banished Jews from living there so most confined in the Jewish Ghetto where the Jewish children where kidnapped.

This^^ is why Europe banded together for Separation of Church and State and untimely took away the churches power.

The boy later became a priest.

However despite him being a priest when the Nazi’s invaded the Church had to hide him to prevent him being arrested and sent to Jewish extermination camps…Why?..Because he was still Jewish by birth.

I was speaking of his religion which was Catholic after baptism.
How can Jewishness be a racial issue is there are Chinese Jews. If you have two Chinese side by side, one a Jew and the other a Buddhist, how would you use race to determine which was which?

The Chinese Jews probably converted.

They are Jews and will be for the rest of their life also.

Once a Jew always a Jew even applies to converts to Judaism.

Catholics are in reality JewsThe Church is the fullfilment of Judaism.We are not ethnic Jews we are spiritual Jews.When Rosalind Moss a Jew attended her first mass she said"MY God,this is Judaism".She converted to Catholicism became a nun and has written many books,articles and produced cds illustrating the continued lineage between Judaism and Christianity but namely Catholicism.Her best book is Salvation is From The Jews.Who do you think the first Christians were,likeMary,Jesus obviously Joseph,the apostles and His disciples?Jews to a man,woman and child.They did not cease being Jews because they became Catholic. Rosalind Moss the Jewish convert to Catholicism ,nun and apologist extraordinaire for the Catholic faith is still as Jewish as the day she was born.
Jesus was a good Jewish boy who loved His Jewish mama.That didn’t stop them from being Catholic.It is not either/or.🙂

This is not the Catholic teaching. If a Jew is baptised, according to Catholicism, he is a Catholic. He is now under the New Law of Jesus Christ and is not required to follow all of the 613 commandments and thousands of laws of the Old Covenant. According to my local rabbi, a Jew cannot follow Jesus. If a Jew does follow Jesus, according to my local rabbi, he is a Christian and is no longer a Jew. So according to my local rabbi, it is false that once a Jew, always a Jew, because a Jew can convert to Christianity just like anyone else.
 
So, let me see if I can understand what the anti-Catholic “Catholics” are claiming on this thread.

Dad is Catholic.

Dad is divorced.

Dad has a daughter with is “ex”-wife.

Dad wants his daughter to learn about the Catholic church for the sake of her immortal soul.

Mom, an anti-Catholic, objects to the last point and disagrees with Dad’s concerns about their daughter’s immortal soul.

Mom, therefore, wants to stop Dad from allowing their daughter to learn the Truth of the Catholic Church and, therefore, make her own decision as to accept Christ or not.

Therefore, Dad is a fundamentally evil man who should spend eternity in Hell and, in the meantime, should go to jail, for having the temerity for trying to teach his daughter the Truth which God has revealed.

So, what have I got wrong?

And how is Mom right?

And who is really concerned about the immortal soul of this little girl. Not to mention the legitimate rights of Dad?

Comments about individual errors made by individuals in the church are not germane and are clearly intended to derail the discussion. Such should be disregarded as off topic.
