I believe it will push a referendum. Trumps promise of something “better” than Obamacare doesn’t mean no insurance for this many Americans and/or the opting out of a pre-existing condition clause, or does it ?

they can continue to kick the can down the road, but these people vote too. The Republicans screamed about the plan for years, then when given the chance to come up with a better plan altogether they were at odds with what to do, they had none.

The Affordable Care Act was originally a republican think tank initiative first utilized by then Gov. Romney in Massachusetts, hailed by the conservative Heritage Foundation and persons such as Newt Gingrich and the same.

No wonder they couldn’t repeal and replace as they promised. It was originally their idea. huh!~
 
“Obamacare” has never been particularly popular or effective at its stated goal of making healthcare more affordable. The people that use it use it largely because the government penalizes them if they don’t, not because it is better than the alternatives available before its passage. This may turn out to be a good thing.
 
The mandate was already a thing of the past, it will indeed hurt those who have health care because of it, especially those below the average median income marker, no one would deny it was expensive for a lot of middle income but for my daughter who falls into the later it was less expensive than through her employer, for sure!~

Oh well. These people do vote.
 
Junk insurance anyone? Trumpcare just around the corner. Hire more underwriters to deny your claims.

3 words need to be considered, namely: Pre-existing condition.
 
We pay insurance currently. Our son has a pre-existing condition. He’ll be 18 soon. What’s that mean for him?

No coverage?

I’ve got Canadian family. I guess I’ll see if they can adopt him.

Interestingly, the insurance companies were promised the benefits of government dictated health insurance. ACA is crony capitalism at its worst. Part and parcel of progressivism

As for the poor, they are no better off now than before ACA. It is the middle class that has taken the hit, with double and triple digit percentage increases in premiums, deductibles, and copays.
But that’s okay, you got to keep your plan and your doctor.

We have no other plan in the works. Freedom is that the buzz word now. To support big insurance is to support freedom.

Yeah, but freedom to choose is so 18th century. Now we’ve seen throughout the 20th century how well the state cares for its citizens.

Meanwhile as more and more folk who cannot afford insurance. They do have the emergency rooms to go to. Waiting til it is an it is an emergency because they cannot afford to visit a doctor.
 
Maybe…just maybe this will get both sides to talk to each other to come up with something better? I know it’s a pipe dream, but one can hope.

Solution to this government created problem does not reside in increased government.
 
I kind of think it’s only a matter of time before something like single payer is created, for better or for worse.
