i’m pretty sure god doesn’t like seeing us drinking or smoking because our body is a temple of god ,would u go to a church and drink and smoke inside?
Ziggy,

That’s fine, you can have that opinion-- but you are avoiding the bigger issues of my posts. You need to make a commitment and stop this spiritual whoring around. I think you are serious about wanting to do what is right, so just study hard and figure out what your theology is and then go with your conscience. The theology of Catholicism and Mormonism are too dissimilar to embrace them both so this is something you really ought to do. God bless and guide you in your endeavours.

Some people have not been sufficiently enlightened about the nature and care of their temple. 😉
no i dont think their is any near me but i dont want to go to a seminary to see good Catholics a want to be close to real catholics normal people like me and not priests but anyways i still have time to think about me being 100% catholic after all i just turn 17 a week ago
Catholics in seminary are normal and good too. I am sorry that you have not been able to be around faithful Catholics who know how to live an exemplary life of faith. But, do not be discouraged, because you can find them! Yes, you will have plenty of time to work this out.

Sigifredo, plenty of Catholics are living right and have intense faith and I spend a lot of time with lots of them. I’m hoping to catch it from them.
You don’t drink or smoke in church, nor eat there, even though there is nothing wrong with eating. Moderation and respect for your body’s needs is the key. If you have good lungs and no kids and you smoke a cigarette a week there are worse things a person could do. A glass of wine or beer with dinner for an adult in good health is usually harmless too. Coffee is OK, even good for you in small amounts. Excess is the problem.
I think if you read balanced historical accounts of the origins of the LDS church you will find reason to doubt its claims to truth. I believe you have met wonderful Mormons. There are really nice folks in just about every religion. But Jesus is God, and He said so, and He founded one church and promised Hell would never overcome it, which means it didn’t vanish for centuries. It’s right here, waiting all along. Keep learning.

i’m not very faithful my self but i tried to have more faith in God u know the type of faith that when u pray u star crying and that u feel normal

idk i just think i have a better chance if i’m in both religions because if the catholic is the true church then i was right and if the Mormon church is the true church then i’m right too because i’m in both churches so i have to shots to be right and not one

Yeah, that video really makes a Catholic want to puke. What is so stunning is how weak this idiot’s theology, message, and “church” must be to spend an entire sermon defacing a Catholic image (that isn’t really even Mary but Therese?). I have been to Anglican, Lutheran, and other services and have never seen such antics. It’s amazing that his own church is so weak and impotent that he resorts to these theatrics.

I just can’t believe that it never crossed this guy’s mind that this is Christ’s MOTHER!? (even though it’s the wrong statue) and how would she feel? Obviously the statue is an image, not the real person, but how could someone in good conscience destroy the image of another religion?

What always cracks me up about many protestants with that whole idolatry stuff is that they just don’t understand the prohibition to make an image of god or gods, idols, etc. was OLD TESTAMENT, part of the Mosaic Law, and God Incarnate had not walked the earth yet? Christ had not taken on human flesh at that point so any image was idolatry. Now that we have seen the Saviour of the World, we know His image and to represent it is NOT idolatry. This guy is a real loser.

idk i just think is wrong if u smoke i just can’t imagine god being ok with us drinking or smoking, and i knoe that they are a lot true catholics out there and about the trinity is just to hard to understand the mormon view of the godhead seems easier for me, i just dont understand how is posible that god was always god he has to have parents and then where does his parents came from… so i guess there are others gods but he is the highest

but WHY do have to choose betweeen the Mormon church and the Catholic church can i just be both? i mean god never said that we have to belong to a certain church or religion i like to believe that when i died god is going to judge me by my actions and not my which religion i was
Tzusuki!? Is that you?

No. If you practice both religions and claim membership to both, you will have ZERO chance for salvation because you are purposefully being very deceiving.

Others have already pointed out to you that neither the LDS nor the Catholic church accept the other’s baptism, so if we play your little game of hypotheticals…

Two possibilities:
  1. The Catholic church is true, and so by being baptized in another religion (Mormonism) you forfeited any alleged “claim” to Heaven. In fact, this same “true” Catholic Church states that you would be living in mortal sin.
  2. The LDS church is true, and so by not fully rescinding your Catholic membership, you are not a true “Mormon” and will have “blasphemed the Holy Spirit” and so either be cast into the Mormon “Outer Darkness” or the “Telestial Kingdom” (Not too positive which one, but you CERTAINLY wont end up in the Celestial Kingdom).
You gotta pick a church. ONE church.

By the way, I notice you make a lot of appeals to authority (i.e. “idk, but the Elders told me this that and the other thing”).

Know that though many LDS are great people, they are systematically taught (by their church) to purposefully deceive, lie to, and/or withhold information about the LDS church if it leads to a conversion. This is called the “Milk before Meat Philosophy” and EVERY SINGLE LDS MISSIONARY IS TAUGHT IT.

Be very careful with what you are spoon fed by the Mormons.

It’s imperative that every claim they make you double-check yourself through diligent research.

Study the LDS history, read about their polygamy, their polytheism, the Masonic-influenced temple endowment (many a things the Elders won’t tell you).

I’ll be praying for you,

~A former Mormon.

may i make a small suggestion wehen you are refering to God in your posts please capitalize the g…it seems like God is less significant if not capitaliized,God is a spirit… spirits have no matter to which can be multiplied…can one fit what is infinate into what is finate…if you ever understand the trinity fully please let every one know cause all christians cannot fully understand the trinity, but it is in the next we shall know God as He knows us…from St.Paul(?) "we see as through a dim mirror…"he was talking about how we see God in this life…

Sigifredo, the Mormon faith is a false religion. I don’t care how ‘nice’ they seem, it is deceiving and not the faith founded by Jesus Christ. The more you learn at your age where Catholicism started, and learn your history of the Catholic church, then you should have no problem.
Jesus started the Catholic church. You must learn how and when he did so. How the Catholic faith has stood for 2,000 years with an unbroken link. No Mormon or any other religion can claim this.
I pray that your eyes will open and your heart receptive to belonging 100% to the church that Jesus founded. The One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic church.

Yes, always been, always will. What do you want to know?
why is the church against abortion and the use of condoms?

why do Catholics pray to saints, Mary and Jesus?

why doesn’t the church prohibits Catholics to have sex before marriage? or to drink, smoke, etc…

RE: Gino Jennings Preaching #609 part 8

This gentleman is not doing anything different than the so-called Christianocategori or iconoclasts of the 8th century, or the Calvinist iconclasts of the 16th. He’s probably acting more out of ignorance than malice. Either way we should pray for him. And who knows, maybe someday he’ll come to a better understanding of the truth about the proper use and reverence of sacred images, relics etc.

Certainly these folks need to read a little history. I might suggest they begin with these amazing words of St. John Damascus (676-749), speaking about the Christianocategori of his day (8th century).
The Christianocategori, or Accusers of Christians, are such and are so called, because those Christians who worship one living and true God praised in Trinity they accused of worshiping as gods, after the manner of the Greeks, the venerable images of our Lord Jesus Christ, of our immaculate lady, the holy Mother of God, of the holy angels, and of His saints.
They are furthermore called Iconoclasts, because they have shown deliberate dishonor to all these same holy and venerable images and have consigned them to be broken up and burnt.
Likewise, some of those painted on walls they have scraped off, while others they have obliterated with whitewash and black paint. They are also called Thymoleontes, or Lion-hearted, because, taking advantage of their authority, they have with great heart given strength to their heresy and with torment and torture visited vengeance upon those who approve of the images. This last name they have also received from their heresiarch.
St. John then proceeds to describe the next group of heretics.
The one-hundred-and-third heresy is that of the Aposchistae, who are also called Doxarii. These seek after their own glory and submit neither to the law of God nor to His priests. They are thoroughly acquainted with the heresy of the Autoproscoptae.
Like them, they require the observance of canonical ordinances and, although they are neither bishops nor presidents of the people, but only members of the common herd, they separate themselves from the Catholic Church.
Rivaling the Euchites, that is to say, the Massalians, they tell the ascetics not to frequent church services, but to be satisfied with the prayers in their own monasteries. They differ among themselves and are in a state of utter confusion, because their falsehood is split into many factions.
They have separated from the communion of the Church and pretend to a great severity of discipline, with each one vying to prove himself better than the next. Some of them do not admit holy baptism and do not receive Holy Communion, whereas others will kiss neither a newly made figure of the venerable cross nor a holy image.
What is worst of all, since they consider themselves to be superior to all men they will accept absolutely no priest, but 'speaking lies in hypocrisy and having their conscience seared,’ they contend in words of no profit and lay up for themselves wood, hay, and stubble, as most inflammable fuel for the eternal fire.
May we be delivered both from the frenzy of the Iconoclasts and from the madness of the Aposchistae, which, although they are diametrically opposed evils, are equal in their impiety.

I wonder if the various iconoclastic congregations object to having “graven images” of this sort in their churches?😉

Imagine Him not, therefore, as losing anything of His own exalted position in wishing you to rise up out of the depths of your ruin.
Augustine - Tractate 52:3
newadvent.org/fathers/1701052.htm
Hence it is recorded of Peter, that for this cause He said concerning him, “Another shall gird you, and carry you whither you would not,” because He intended to signify “by what death he should glorify God.” Therefore in him, too, did God glorify His name, because thus also does He glorify Christ in His members. Ibid.
For we do not so narrow and restrict the
application of the term “blessedness” as to apply it to God only, though doubtless He is so truly blessed that greater blessedness cannot be.

WHAT!? I don’t know how you came under this impression, but the church indeed teaches against any and all forms of premarital sex.

PS: Check your email. I sent you another message 🙂

Sigifredo, what you have just said is blasphemy. God never said to destroy his mother or any other statue. WE DO NOT WORSHIP STATUES. What is it you people do not get? How can you agree with this hateful person?

I need to leave here before I say anything else that isn’t charitable.
Shame on you for agreeing to destroy the Mother of God.

The BVM is not a statue  So why the word “other” ?

The OP is right - because the Saints are not affected by what is done to representations of them; for these are made of wood, stone, plastic, cardboard & so on. Logically, the Saints would have to be damaged when holy pictures were destroyed or faded away, ***if *** they were affected by what happens to representations of them. 😉

but WHY do have to choose betweeen the Mormon church and the Catholic church can i just be both? i mean god never said that we have to belong to a certain church or religion i like to believe that when i died god is going to judge me by my actions and not my which religion i was

Because the Mormon God is not the Blessed Trinity. The Mormon doctrines are not simply different from the Catholic ones in their words - they are completely opposed to them in what they mean. They are no more compatible than cyanide & milk 😦
