Wow! that solution must be worth *millions n’est pas?

*Good thing this dear lady took one for the team so we could pay her to come up with something so important to all of us. 😉

When I was an altar server almost 50 years ago, there was no training in fire safety. The sisters in charge were more concerned with boys who managed to drip hot wax on expensive altar linens, which made stains that could not be removed.

There wasn’t a piece of fire suppression equipment, safety blanket, etc. anyplace. And, the way this church was built, with a locked door to the rectory, there wasn’t access to a phone in the event of any sort of emergency.

In certain ways, it seems that kids grow up real fast, but then in other ways, they typically have not thought-out the consequences of their actions.

Before, there might have been 50 lit candles up by the altar. Our carved wooden BVM statue cracked from the heat of all the devotional candles that were arrayed around it.

Open flames are an accident waiting to happen.

Fifty years ago you can be absolutely sure that had you accidentaly been burned, you wouldn’t have even remotely thought of filing for punitive damages. Nothing whatsoever good has come from the appearance of this mentality in either our society at large or in our Church. Fix the problem, pay the medical bills, fine; get a windfall for both you and them being negligent ,no way. No matter how you cut it, if you stand near a fire with flowing clothes, you can expect to et burned. No adult in their right mind could blame someone else nor expect a windfall for the outcome of such a moronic choice. The fact that you were never injured speaks volumes that even a child could avoid this trouble with a little caution.

Nothing gets past this lawyer he is also sueing the skirt manufacturer?
Uh what they should make their skirts fire retardent for theri customers now?
Hey wait why not sue the shoe comapany too as she couldn’t run fast enough away from the fire. WHen does it end with these accident lawsuits?
Hey if I saw 200 canles on the ground and I was wearing a long skirt I wouldn’t be standing above the candles.
Now I know why they put those stickers for stupid people on dryers. Because there are stupid people who sue for accidents that shouldn’t happen if you have common sense.
