For me, this comes down to a personal preference; I carry my bible with me wherever I go. Sometimes I leave it in my truck, but it is always pretty handy.

I do not need to carry my bible to church as the shurch itself holds many bibles that are the same as mine.

Best place I know of purgatory is → 1 corinthians: 3:11 - 16

Since others have directed you to a more comprehensive response to your questions, I’ll just pick one of them to answer – #7 about mortal and venial (that is, non-mortal) sin:

I John 5:

16] If any one sees his brother committing what is not amortal sin, he will ask, and God will give him life for those whose sin is notmortal. There is sin which ismortal; I do not say that one is to pray for that.
17] All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin which is notmortal.

When the angel Gabriel appeared to Mary to tell her that she was going to be the Mother of the Savior, he said to her: Hail, Mary, FULL OF GRACE. Can you honestly believe that God would allow his Son, who was purity itself, to be born of a woman who was a sinner?? NO! If she was a sinner she would not be worthy of being his mother! The Mother of Jesus had to be as pure and holy as he was. God created Mary sinless because she was to be the Mother of our Savior.

One question for you, tho. How did the early Christians endure persecution and martyrdom all those centuries without the bible, since the “bible” didn’t exist until after the Councils of Hippo and Carthage in the late 390’s A.D.?

P.S. Since the three scripture readings at every Sunday mass are pre-printed in the missalette (available to everyone at the mass), it is not necessary to bring an extra copy in a bible. The mass is worship, not a bible study.

These are some Bible references to Mary.

I was sleeping, but my heart kept vigil;
I heard my lover knocking:
"Open to me, my sister, my beloved,
my dove, my perfect one! (Song of Songs 5:2)

You are all-beautiful, my beloved,
and there is no blemish in you. (Song of Songs 4:7)

Protesters often disagree about the Catholic doctrine of Original Sin. They are trying to say that babies and young children are innocent and have no sin. Then they question why Mary was sinless. Isn’t it a contradiction? The Catholic doctrines only proves right.

Specifically, these come to my mind:

Mat 12:32 And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but he that shall speak against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him neither in this world, nor in the world to come.

Jesus here clearly implies that sins can be forgiven in the world to come. However, we know that there is no sin in Heaven, and no one’s sins are forgiven in Hell. Where will these sins be forgiven in the world to come? Purgatory.

1Co 3:13 Every man’s work shall be manifest. For the day of the Lord shall declare it, because it shall be revealed in fire. And the fire shall try every man’s work, of what sort it is.14 If any man’s work abide, which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any mans work burn, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved, yet so as by fire.

Paul clearly states that man can be saved “by fire”. However, there is no fire in Heaven, and again, no one is saved from Hell. Where is this fire? Purgatory.

Note the difference…the preaching is conformed to the Word of God at Catholic Mass, and not vice-versa.

I was raised protestant and the statements WERE NOT FALSE! IThe Serman depends on the Preachers interpretation on the scriptures he picks to preach on. He plays pope but doesn’t recognise it.Come Home, spoken:crying: God Bless
