Since when did pentacostals believe that?? I take it this was not a mainstream pc church.
From my experience Pentecostals do not believe in spiritual heaven or hell. They believe that heaven is a place god will physically manifest here along with the physical manifestation of the lake of fire. They also believe physically they will be resurrected here on earth before entering the new heaven, brought here by god.

They are vermantly extreme fundamentalists and love to “speak in tongues” during prayer.

In australia they are kinda very much starting to get another nickname. Hillsong Style.

Simple , because we love you guys and gals.
It is my hope to share the “truth” of Jesus Christ" with you
so you will have an antidote to the lies and halftruths that come out of Rome
Oh how nice of you to try to “save” us from Rome. 😉

Fortunately and Gracefully the Catholic Church has no “lies and halftruths” like you think she does. So no need to enlighten us unless you want to open yourself up for debate. 😃
He must be referring to the recent escapades of (former) Archbishop Milingo.

Or perhaps he does not like the Novus Ordo Mass and prefers the Tridentine.

WOW you guys are so nice:D :o Thank you for the kind comments:love: I really like you guys too. BIG GROUP HUG!!
I also favor and admire ALLFORHIM because she’s been open minded on Catholic teachings.

I’ve noticed that there are many non-Catholic members here. I’m really curious why they hang out on a Catholic site? I’m not asking this in a judging or nasty way, I’m truly curious. Why would someone who is clearly not in agreement with the Catholic Faith want to spend time in a place where what they probably do believe is constantly disagreed with?

What do non-Catholics get out of being here, I guess is what I’m wondering.

This is my first post. I am curious about Catholicism. I am Protestant but I am studying Catholicism. My Aunt converted to Catholicism years ago. There are many things in Protestantism that I am uncomfortable with. Converting has been in the back of my mind but I’m not one to make a decision I am unsure about.

Welcome to the forums!

I came here 1.5 years ago as an evangelical Protestant, and was received into the Church last September. The Catholics who post on these forums are some of the most knowledgeable about the faith you’ll find anywhere.

I sent a note to my former pastor to let him know of my conversion to Catholicism, and he seemed a bit distressed. In addition to myself and my wife, his nephew has recently converted, as well. About a year ago, he would’ve written me off as “lost,” and now, he’s offered me prayers for my journey.

Welcome to the forum. May God guide you in your faith.

Hello,

I am a muslim.

I was on a muslim forum ( cant remember if it was www.whyislam.org or www.islamicity.com/forum/) when i was invited here by a reverend( A Protestant i guess) who said that there are some people here who would like to ask some questions about Islam.

The reason that i am bieng here is to present the muslim explanation of Islam to any one who wants to ask . Also i get to have a glimpse on other peoples beliefs too.

best regards,

Meedo

👋 Welcome to CAForums! It is understandable that you are unsure about something so big. That’s okay. If you have any questions just start a new thread to ask about something that comes to mind. Just make sure that you devote one question for one thread. That would make it easier so that our brains won’t get fried. http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i85/Alegre-Fe/Emoticons/Laughing.gif

Ever hear of EWTN? You can watch the station on the internet or listen to EWTN Radio anytime online.

May God bless you on your journey. :gopray:

Just kidding.

My wife is a Roman Catholic, so I am interested in understanding papist theology.
Jsus for Madrid, if you are interested in learning about Catholic theology, beliefs, understandings, rituals, then you are beginning on a back foot by being derogatory “papist theology?”
Naaahhh you are not interested in catholicism, you are interested in stirring and trying to keep your wife happy.

Ok good, now I see that I was not the only one bothered by that comment.

I can think of four reasons off-hand: (1) They want to learn about the Catholic Faith; (2) They are now considering becoming Roman Catholics and want to learn more about the Catholic Church; (3) They have become so close to Catholicism in their faith and praxis that they want to be sure what they think and what they believe and teach is in line with mainstream Roman Catholicism; (4) They want to see what Catholics believe about their Churches and if there are any misconceptions or misperceptions, to have an opportunity to address them in a positive manner.

Allowing non-Catholics here is also, at least as far as I am concerned, a great way to begin the process of leading them into the Roman Catholic Church. 🙂

Well technicaly it isnt anything. Its just using the impolite and degrading term of “papist” - “under the Pope” and well we all know theology. He is just not using the correct term of “Catholic theology.” Papist is just an insulting term used by anti-Catholic denominations. Thank you for asking, God Bless!

Thanks for the kind welcome, everyone. I am hear to learn with an open mind.
