Just got banned from a Baptist Forum...

I was banned on my very first message!

All I did was introduce myself!

geez, that is highly unreasonable. could you share with us what you posted to get yourself banned? other than you not being baptist… 😃

It’s more a simple refusal to hear anything that contradicts what their pastors tell them and what they tell each other. If you read any of the posts on that thread, I’m sure you noted that they don’t have the faintest idea of what the Catholic Church teaches and they simply parrot the same old patently false bigoted and idiotic rhetoric. Some of those posts are real gems too.

Gotta give you credit for posting though, I just go there for the entertainment value.
 
I haven’t been banned from any forums, but I’m reminded of a particular forum where I posted a couple of times and then was viciously attacked by one of the moderators. (PM me if you want details.)
 
On a positive note Matariel, I’m quite sure there are Baptism forums out there that are better than the one you tried.

You might take a look through the list of forums associated with “christianforums”.
 
There is one Baptist forum which is notorious for its strident anti-Catholicism. Even admitting that you have an interest in Catholicism there, let alone that you are Catholic, gets you banned. You don’t have to “do” anything beyond that. I’m guessing that’s where the OP tried to post?

I saw that the moderator was in the thread, “Can Roman Catholics Be Saved?”

And he was talking about just because Catholics have conservative values "(anti-abortion, no same-sex marriage, et cetera) doesn’t mean squat. “They are on a path of destruction, and if any ever become saved they will be convicted and leave immediately.” blah, blah, blah.

So I said:

"Hi, I’m new to this forum, and I just wanted to say I think you’re wrong about Catholics. As a matter of fact, I must be going to Hell too, 'cause I’m thinking about becoming Catholic. 🤷
Since it appears the Catholic Church is founded by Christ and He said the “gates of Hell will not prevail against it. But I think you should find out what Catholics really believe, instead of reading second- and third-hand sources.”

Then a message came up about a minute later, saying:

YOU ARE PERMANENTLY BANNED FROM THIS FORUM
See Administrator for details.

😃 You get a “GOLD” ATTABOY!! Don’t feel bad… I’ve never been “banned” per se, but…I’ve tried to log on after registering and my screen goes “wacko”… I guess they were trying to tell me something…:rolleyes:

I’ll give this forum it’s dues, given I’m an agnostic, pro choice, and according to some here a male hating left wing ultrafeminist, that also happens to be uneducated and in need of psychiatric help - I’ve survived 2 days so far 😛 😛 😛

The Baptists may have thrown a devil into the mix to keep the Catholics at bay. :rolleyes:

Its about par for the course… I’ve seen a number of them like that. If you literally proved them wrong seven ways to Sunday with the Bible, and Christ Himself appeared and said you were correct…they would still argue that you were wrong.😦 I stopped wasting my time with people like that long ago…

Actually Im reminded of the monthly or so threads with people whining about that Baptist board. If a Baptist site wants Baptist discussion only then I don’t see what the big deal is. Not all sites need to be open to everyone.

I post on a board for women only. All men are banned. Can a person pretend to be male and get inside? sure they can! But it would be wrong. It would interrupt our purpose to have one place for just women. The boards existence doesn’t make us anti-male just as a Baptist only forums does not necessarily mean its anti-catholic. It means its not a place for Catholics/males whatever. Its not about blinding oneself from all other Religions/cultures/genders (whatever the forum bans) its about a chance to talk with like minded people.

If a Site is welcoming of you then go for it, if not just know it wasn’t the place for you, there are tons more all over the net! There is Catholic site I wanted very much to read the materials it had, but it requires me to agree that I am Catholic to get in. Now I could go into alternative definitions of Catholic or flat out lie but I don’t do that. its not a place for me. CAF lets anyone come and debate or what have you. SO I come here instead. Its simple and straight forward. Sites have different rules. People make those rules for their own reasons. I don’t get why you have to go Baptist bashing just cause they ban Catholics.

Disclaimer: I am not Baptist and they’d prob ban me at that site too!
