Thank you and the following poster who clarified that the OF is also called the Novus Ordo. That would be the Mass we also know as the “vernacular”.EF = Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite aka Tridentine Mass
OF = Ordinary Form of the Roman Rite aka Pauline Mass
I grew up with the EF and find the renewed interest, especially among younger people to be quite fascinating. While I eventually came to be able to follow the Mass in Latin, one of my strongest memories is of many of the older people saying the Rosary during Mass rather than participate in the great sacrifice and worship of the Father in the Mass. I am so happy for those who find the EF uplifting and calling them closer to God. While my preference is for the OF, I am glad Mother Church provides for both.
