Just Prayed My First Rosary and Will Soon Begin RCIA

Hey everyone,

Today, I just prayed my first Rosary. Also, yesterday, I met with a local parish’s Director of RCIA and am going to begin RCIA quite soon as a Candidate. My Rite of Welcoming will occur on October 12th.

Also, I am going to make it a spiritual discipline for myself to pray the Rosary once everyday.

hey and welcome home, by this resolution you will be putting yourself on the fasttrack, everything goes better with Mary. I love this time of year, because by the end of October (rosary month) if not sooner every candidate has received their rosary and learned to pray with Mary, and are so delighted with it. Can’t explain why but it seems to fill a deep need most people have been feeling, I guess because it brings them in closer contact with the Gospel and helps them pray more deeply with scripture on a level they may not have experienced before.

Terrific begaining! Keep up the good work that the Holy Spirit has begun in you.

A few things to remember, Mary is our Mother too, Jesus himself said so from the Cross.

One sometimes accuses us Catholics of praying to Idol’s. That is because they do not really understand what informed, practicing Roman Catholics are actually doing.

We call prayers “to the Saints and Our Blessed Mother,” “intercessory” prayers. In other words, we (more acurately) PRAY THROUGH than TO, Mary and the Saints. We do so because of there exemplary lifes of holiness, and know that they are in the Presence of God, so we ask them to “speak to God” on our behalf.

We do not “worship” the saints and our BVM, rather we “reverence” them. A HUGE difference.
