This topic has everything to do with the JWs lack of credibility regarding not only their defective theology but the extreme controlling tactics employed by their leadership regarding inability of their members to access dissenting opinion. Any religion that tells me that I will be “disfellowshipped” for honest inquiry is a dangerous mind-controlling cult and as such needs to be warned against. As far as I’m concerned, you are using this forum to spread dangerous propaganda. You have the freedom to post your drivel, but I also have the freedom to call it what it is.
Hi

Mr.Hosemonky and Mr.BibleSteve!

I would request you both not to be personal, please present your view point without leading into a contentious debate, for a meaningful and reasonable dialogue.

Thanks

Nobody is getting personal, I’m just telling it like it is. Thank you for your concern.

I’m sorry you feel as you do.

Perhaps you can feel better to know that not one of your friends, family, or comrades has ever been killed in any war by one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Your fallen friends were killed by members of other religions. What religion were those who killed your comrades? Any of them Christian?

Also, you may take satisfaction knowing that because of their peaceful stand, JW’s were imprisoned, beaten into unconsciousness until they could spit their teeth out, and often executed.

For example, Here’s what happened to those German JW’s who refused to fight against you and your comrades in WWII:

jw-media.org/edu_videos/vcfi_e.htm

Here’s the torture Korean JW’s received for refusing to kill you and your comrades in the Korean War:

jw-media.org/vnr/5263723221/62734221.htm

Please enjoy seeing how these shameful JW’s are currently being treated:

tinyurl.com/2yzd4w
tinyurl.com/yruzz8

This physical violence against JW’s was just as intense in the US, and Canada, and many other countries around the world. It continues today.

JW’s are simply a worldwide group that adheres to the Bible command at Isa 2:4 to “learn war no more”
chances are steve, that the poster your referring to was not even born during world war 2. so please refrain from attacking him in this manner. ok he was born in 42. but please, if it weren’t for the allied fighting in ww2, we might all live under a dictatorship, or worse God forbid! you wouldn’t have the religious freedom you so richly enjoy today steve if it weren’t for the allied in the war. one more thing steve, witnesses weren’t the only ones kiled you know. saint maximilian kolbe was also. so please don’t make it sound like witnesses were the only ones killed because that is not the truth.

This thread is not about the validity of Christians killing other Christians.

I understand you think that’s OK, but that’s another thread.

dude, your pretty slick the way you avoid the questions.

I’m diligently trying to follow the forum’s rules since I’ve experience 1st hand how any infraction will run me out of the forum.

I appreciate the “dude” thing… I’ve not been called that before… is there some implication in that?

uh no, your a guy, and its only slang, so feel free to call me dudette:D

So, back on the topic.

Let’s let our disagreements on doctrine go for a minute.

I think the level of coordination and organization that is shown by this group of 7 Million volunteers has not been equaled by another other religious or secular organization.

A new issue of milliions of WT magazine produce every 15 days, simultaneously in over 140 languages, delivered to the congregations and hand delivered to each and every house for free, without missing an issue for over 100 years…

I know you disagree with the doctrine, but the logistics and organization to accomplish that is unprecidented.

Serious, I understand Readers Digest is in 2nd place at 20 simultaneous languages at a monthly fee.

well, when Jesus walked the earth, word of Him spread like wildfire and that was unprecedented wasn’t it? sure was. the blind were given sight, the lame walked, the dead were raised. that never happened before in mans history. far more remarkable than some organization publishing books in the millions.

jmo.

and the whole world has known about Him long before the society came into play. now that is also truly remarkable isn’t it? the Catholic Church spread the good news to millions for over 2000 years now and counting.

TraditionalCath, I really appreciate the information you have presented; esp. their ‘pre-packaged’ lines to my responses. I am always amazed at how cool and immediate their responses are in light of the fact that they do not always come across as very well educated as detected by grammar. They hit our street at least 1 x a month. So they give (they used to ask for 10-25 cents)literature for us to read while they are forbidden to read lit. we may offer them? The executives, at the top of this organization, are they getting money or power or both?

that would be a better question to ask jeff schewhm. i will pm him and forward the link to this post to him. you need to hear it from him as he is an expert. i know that the governing body as far as i know does not receive a monthly salary, they might receive some kind of allowance, but i have no proof of that. and i wont speculate. jeff might know more than i. i have forwarded the question to jeff.

Everyone one at Bethel lives a very simple life, with basic food and shelter. They’ve devoted 100% of their time towards working to help others learn the Bible and about God’s Kingdom.

The rank and file JW’s attend 3 meetings a week to learn Bible understandings and how to talk with others about their questions.

If a member doesn’t know how to read, the WTBS will teach them to read, teach them the Bible, and teach them public speaking skills.

As much as you all disagree with the doctrine, the organization is amazingly efficient at teaching all 7 million members to talk with others.

It’s not a simple task.

Frankly, independent of your doctrinal disputes, they are very organized.

That is what these videos are about.

Ants are also very well organized. What was scary to me was watching the drones in your video mindlessly tending the machines and packing the books by the millions. Knowing that these worker ants were working for almost nothing is even scarier because of the mind manipulation that must be required to make them perform under such conditions. I am certainly surprised that the environmentalists have not jumped on the JWs in outrage for all the resourses (paper, etc) that they are wasting. Are these 3 meetings a week mandatory? I am told that if one is not sufficiently zealous, that one can be “disfellowshipped” (shudder)
BTW, it’s not always about money, at a certain level it becomes all about power and control. JW’s have submitted themselves to that control, very much like the Borg.

  • shiver * now there’s a frightening flashback! Thank goodness I don’t have to do that anymore!
problem with considering only the INSIDE view of anything is that it is irrelevant to those who are not inside…
JWs protected me from the bad bad ‘world’ for many years and for that much I am grateful. But my spirituality was definitely stunted after 15 years of regular pioneering and I just woke up one morning and realized I had outgrown it. The chaos and drama of leaving that life behind was a bitter battle, but being with them served it’s purpose–even all that door-knocking. When I see sincere JWs doing that today I have to think that there is some reason God allows them to still be there and when it is His time to add to their growth then He will call them out and show them where He wants them to go next. I pray everyday for the conversion of JWs to the fullness of truth and the true Church.
    Ravyn
thanks, i’ve been trying to explain the “fullness of the faith” somehow to others and i don’t think i’ve been able to use words as simply as you have.

Those “drones” are unselfish people who’ve decided to volunteer their time out of love of God and neighbor to help others learn about the Bible. Even in the face of insulting, unappreciative comments they work hard all day long without pay to help others learn about the Bible. This is a volunteer assignment. They can leave anytime they want.

JW’s attend meetings 3 days a week out of interest in the topic, Love of God, and love of neighbor. College students attend classes all day long 5 days a week and I doublt you’d be concern about their dedication.

People are not disfellowshipped for missing meetings or not being zealous.

Thank you for watching the videos.

So, back on the topic.

Let’s let our disagreements on doctrine go for a minute.

We cannot let our disagreements on doctrine go for even a minute, because it is your faulty doctrine that makes JWs a non-christian cult.🤷

If you can’t see past the idea that you are ultimately right and others are ultimately wrong, it is you who are hypnotised into believing that the map is the territory.

You are quite correct. I am ultimately right and you are ultimately wrong. If you are a member of the Borg, you are blind to the fact that you follow a false and deceitful cult. I feel sorry for those who have built their lives around a lie.
