dave, real christians all over the world reject that heretical and diabolical nwt of the wbts. Please don’t even use it anymore. Moreover, again, the passage is taken out of context. The prophecy applies specifically to the jewish people during the the time of the divided kingdoms. Do not fall into the deception of the evil one. Open your eyes and your heart to the truth of the word of god. A lot of people found god by just studying the bible for themselves. Do not just depend on what the wt tells you to believe. Read the books we recommended in this thread, especially the ones on biblical hermeneutics and exegesis. Read chgurch history as well. There are 2 good books that i would recommend from both catholic and protestant authors: “a concise history of the catholic church” by thomas bokenkotter and “church history in plain language” by bruch shelley.

I’ll pray that the holy spirit would lead you to the truth, which is jesus christ himself (john 14:6).
is not this beautiful, catholic and non catholic writing together to a specific person so that person can come to know the real jesus… We should do this more by focusing on our common denominator… Jesus is lord and came down here to save us because we cannot save ouselves!!! Having our faith in christ in his dieing love for us…

Love you all my brothers in christ… And let’s all pray together!! =) to that great loving heavenly father that loves us so much and to our lord savior brother jesus, and to our great councelor the lord of giver and life the holy spirit - one god for souls and peace!! The world is scary right now with all this hate and immorality and disbelief in christ.

Right on cides.

We are living in a fog of deception.
But I do have faith that God will reveal the truth to all who earnestly seek Him.
My prayers at Mass today were for our friend Dave.

“Make no mistake about it: these events and times are here to confuse, bewilder, baffle, befuddle & nervously excite you so that your head spins and the scream of the chaos keeps you from hearing the “still, small voice” of the Holy Spirit.”

Might I say that all are correct in their estimation of JWs. We must all together pray to
the Holy Spirit for their conversion. Their immortal souls are in danger of being totaly lost.

If anyone has ever read the novel “1984”, by George Orwell, this would give you a fairly
good idea as to how individual JWs are controlled. This novel tells of how the state,
reffered to as “Big Brother” controls the minds and lives of its citizens. Any error, change
of policy, etc. made by the state is corrected by a process called “double think”. The
slogan “Big Brother is watching you” keeps all in control. No one dares to do anything
contrary to “Big Brother’s” pronouncements. To do otherwise would subject the individual to either total banishment or “re-education”. In reading this novel, the first thought that
came to my mind was as to how descriptive it was of the WBTS and its JWs. But, keep
in mind, this occurs in almost all cults where the “leader” MUST have total control.

Sums it up I guess, sadly.
But remember, you have a chance to change this every time a JW stops at your house, so don’t slam the door, talk to them ! 🙂
And, pray, pray, pray.

I wish there was an orgainized support group for those that leave. They seem so lost and dejected. No family, self-doubts, often, no religion at all. They remind me of children who have been abused, and have escaped the abuse. They are damaged, and need healing.

Don’t force my hand.

As for the ‘being told’ what to do comments. We are very grateful we have such guidence.

Smoking, Blood, Neutrality False religious celebrations. Compare 2 Cor 6:14-19

Do not become unevenly yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship do righteousness and lawlessness have? Or what sharing does light have with darkness 15 Further, what harmony is there between Christ and Be′li·al Or what portion does a faithful person have with an unbeliever? 16 And what agreement does God’s temple have with idols? For we are a temple of a living God; just as God said: “I shall reside among them and walk among [them], and I shall be their God, and they will be my people.” 17 “‘Therefore get out from among them, and separate yourselves,’ says Jehovah, ‘and quit touching the unclean thing’”; “‘and I will take YOU in.’” 18 “‘And I shall be a father to YOU, and YOU will be sons and daughters to me,’ says Jehovah the Almighty.”

**…When a person finds out that the celebration they are engaging in has it’s origin in an unchristian religious background they need to "get out from among them, and separate yourselves,’ says Jehovah, ‘and quit touching the unclean thing’”; **

Look up the origin of Birthdays, and all holidays. Especially Easter!

Again "being told what to do? (Isaiah 2:2-4) 2 And it must occur in the final part of the days [that] the mountain of the house of Jehovah will become firmly established above the top of the mountains, and it will certainly be lifted up above the hills; and to it all the nations must stream. 3 And many peoples will certainly go and say: “Come, YOU people, and let us go up to the mountain of Jehovah, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will instruct us about his ways, and we will walk in his paths.” For out of Zion (Heb 12:22) law will go forth, and the word of Jehovah out of Jerusalem. 4 And he will certainly render judgment among the nations and set matters straight respecting many peoples. And they will have to beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, neither will they learn war anymore.

Who is the unbeliever? Your spiritual ancestors broke off from the original branch, not visa versa.

The smoking, blood, neutrality business is all an individual’s interpretation, and meant to deprive, set apart and isolate the persons involved. They count on the lack of critical thinking skills of the people involved, as well as the power of persuation. I personally believe there is more to it than that. That actual tactics are used to “program” the interested party. I believe the Mormons use some of the same tactics, but, they are not nearly as oppressive as the JW’s.

The no birthday thing is just bizzaro, and a tactic to keep you all isolated and “odd” to the rest of the world, making you think you are doing something special.

Easter, Christmas, and the like, are feasts cleverly timed to coincide with some popular, misguided celebrations. It is the Church’s aim and task to “baptize” all things and “Chirstianize” them. It worked, too. That is, until the secularists attacked them. They been hijacked and sabotaged. I do hope Christmas is wiped out for a while, then we can start over from scratch. The January 6 date that the Orthodox use sounds just dandy to me.

Whether you know it or not, you have been psychologically abused. Now, you are administering it to others. You are just too deep into your “programming” to realize it.

Dave, I say this in all charity. You are totaly misguided by the WBTS. I had studied the
“bible” with them for about one year. Whenever a certain subject came up, I researched it
and the answers I received from the WBTS were totally opposed to the writings of the early Church Fathers. Now who was I to believe? The more we progressed, the worse it got. I finnaly broke it off and returned to the One True Church founded by Jesus Christ
which for the past 200 years has taught the truth of Jesus and the Apostles. It cannot
be proven otherwise. I pray, Dave, that you learn the real truth and leave the WBTS
before it is too late. You are missing so much.

It is only sinners (like Pharaoh and Herod) who make great rejoicings over the day on which they were born into this world below.’”—The Catholic Encyclopedia, 1913, Vol. X, p. 709.[/SIGN]
Easter, Christmas, It is the Church’s aim and task to “baptize” all things and “Chirstianize” them. It worked, too.

(Romans 15:3-4) 4*For all the things that were written aforetime were written for our instruction, that through our endurance and through the comfort from the Scriptures we might have hope.

please notice how God feels about “accepting” or “Chirstianizing” unclean worship.

(Deuteronomy 7:1-11) 7 “When Jehovah your God at last brings you into the land to which you are going so as to take possession of it, he must also clear away populous nations from before you, the Hit′tites and the Gir′ga·shites and the Am′or·ites and the Ca′naan·ites and the Per′iz·zites and the Hi′vites and the Jeb′u·sites, seven nations more populous and mighty than you are. 2 And Jehovah your God will certainly abandon them to you, and you must defeat them. You should without fail devote them to destruction. You must conclude no covenant with them nor show them any favor. 3** And you must form no marriage alliance with them**. Your daughter you must not give to his son, and his daughter you must not take for your son. 4 For he will turn your son from following me, and they will certainly serve other gods; and Jehovah’s anger will indeed blaze against YOU, and he will certainly annihilate you in a hurry. 5 “On the other hand, this is what YOU should do to them: Their altars YOU should pull down, and their sacred pillars YOU should break down, and their sacred poles YOU should cut down, and their **graven images **YOU should burn with fire. 6 For you are a holy people to Jehovah your God. It is you Jehovah your God has chosen to become his people, a special property, out of all the peoples that are on the surface of the ground. 7 “It was not because of YOUR being the most populous of all the peoples that Jehovah showed affection for YOU so that he chose YOU, for YOU were the least of all the peoples. 8 But it was because of Jehovah’s loving YOU, and because of his keeping the sworn statement that he had sworn to YOUR forefathers, that Jehovah brought YOU out with a strong hand, that he might redeem you from the house of slaves, from the hand of Phar′aoh the king of Egypt.

ALSO,…
(Judges 2:2) And for YOUR part, YOU must not conclude a covenant with the inhabitants of this land. Their altars YOU should pull down.’ But YOU have not listened to my voice. Why have YOU done this?

Again Paul said as he quoted from Isa “Get out from among them!”
*
(Isaiah 52:11) Turn away, turn away, get out of there, touch nothing unclean; get out from the midst of her, keep yourselves clean, YOU who are carrying the utensils of Jehovah.
(Jeremiah 51:45) “Get out of the midst of her, O my people, and provide each one his soul with escape from the burning anger of Jehovah.
(Revelation 18:4) And I heard another voice out of heaven say: “Get out of her, my people, if YOU do not want to share with her in her sins, and if YOU do not want to receive part of her plagues.*

Conclusion:
True Christians have something finer than unchristian religious celebrations. They have the “fruitage of the spirit,” which is “love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, mildness, self-control.” (Galatians 5:22, 23) This fruitage produces a generosity that is much more beautiful and genuine than the “Christmas spirit” that blooms just once a year. God’s spirit produces kindness and unselfishness that can plainly be seen every day of the year. This prompts Christians to give, not with the hope of repayment or because they are pressured into it, but out of genuine Christian love.—Luke 6:35, 36; Acts 20:35.

Real Christians can give gifts and have good times together throughout the year. (Luke 6:38) Parents do not have to wait for birthdays or for Christmas, but they can bring gifts to their children at various times during the year. **This makes for many happy occasions instead of one or two. Further, the children know that it is their parents who are giving them the gifts, doing so out of love for them. This helps to cement the bond of love between parents and children. **Moreover, children are not encouraged to be unthankful to man or God, because of thinking that they are entitled to receive gifts on certain days.—Colossians 3:14.

Learning the truth about the pagan origins of popular customs can have a marvelous liberating effect. No longer do we feel obligated to follow practices that have proved to be a burden, financially and otherwise, to people of the world. And, most important, our knowing the truth frees us to pursue the course that is pleasing to Jehovah, so that we may find everlasting life in his righteous new system.—John 8:32; Romans 6:21, 22.

[SIGN]Javl;Whenever a certain subject came up, I researched it
and the answers I received from the WBTS were totally opposed to the writings of the early Church Fathers.[/SIGN]

(Matthew 13:24-30) 24**Another illustration he set before them, saying: “The kingdom of the heavens has become like a man that sowed fine seed in his field. 25 While men were sleeping, his enemy came and oversowed weeds in among the wheat, and left. 26 When the blade sprouted and produced fruit, then the weeds appeared also. 27 So the slaves of the householder came up and said to him, ‘Master, did you not sow fine seed in your field? How, then, does it come to have weeds?’ 28 He said to them, ‘An enemy, a man, did this.’ They said to him, ‘Do you want us, then, to go out and collect them?’ 29 He said, ‘No; that by no chance, while collecting the weeds, YOU uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest; and in the harvest season I will tell the reapers, First collect the weeds and bind them in bundles to burn them up, then go to gathering the wheat into my storehouse.’”*

Here Jesus foretold that his teachings would be subverted. He said: “The kingdom of the heavens has become like a man that sowed fine seed in his field. While men were sleeping, This is talking about his apostles 'sleeping ’ in death Compare Ps 13:3; and John 11:11

As Jesus himself explained, in his illustration the man who sowed wheat in the field represents Jesus, and the seeds he planted represent true Christians. The enemy who sowed weeds among the wheat represents “the Devil.” The weeds represent lawless, apostate men who falsely claim to be servants of God. (Matthew 13:36-42) The apostle Paul gave further details of what would happen. He said: “I know that after my going away oppressive wolves will enter in among you and will not treat the flock with tenderness, and from among you yourselves men will rise and speak twisted things to draw away the disciples after themselves.”—Acts 20:29, 30.
Christianity Subverted

Did what Jesus illustrated and what Paul foretold come true? It certainly did. Ambitious men took control of the congregation that Jesus had established and used it for their own ends. Jesus had told his followers: “You are no part of the world.” (John 15:19)

Nevertheless, power-hungry men formed alliances with rulers and formed State churches that amassed immense power and wealth. These churches taught “twisted things.” For example, they taught people to worship the State and to sacrifice their lives for it in warfare. Thus, so-called Christians participated in Crusades and slaughtered people whom they considered to be unbelievers. They also went to war and killed their own “brothers” of the same religion. They certainly did not practice Christian neutrality and love of neighbor.—Matthew 22:37-39; John 15:19; 2 Corinthians 10:3-5; 1 John 4:8, 11.

Sorry to be so harsh…but you opened the door…

You are applying Scripture to what has nothing to do with the topics under discussion. It is your org’s rationalization of their rules using Scripture to justfy the ordinance. The writers of Scripture had something else altogether in mind. You will never reach the level of spirituality it is meant to convey b/c you are stuck, as were the early Jews, following the letter of the law put out by your superiors.

And, just b/c some pagan celebrated his birthday does not make it a sin to single out a person for special treatment on the day of their birth. It used to be quite a feat to make it to one’s first BD, and it was celebrated as such. Christmas is a celebration of Chirst’s BD. SInce your org demonizes BD’s, it must demonize Jesus’ BD. Why would you care, since you do not recognize the Incarnation for what it was?

Same with Easter. You don’t believe anything special happened anyway, so why would you celebrate what amounts to nothing to you. Well, to us it is everything, and so we mark the occasion with gusto. In the old days, long before JW’s were even thought of, before secularization, Chirstmas, Easter, and many, many other feast days were taken very seriously and truly gave honor and glory to God. These days, the secularization of the holidays waters it down into something downright sacreligious. I can see where that would look inappropriate.

Your rules are for the purposes I described, regardless of the random Scriptures your superiors twist to rationalize their psychologically aberrant positions. I think they get a kick out of persuading weak-minded people into doing what ever they bid you to do. Like ponies around a ring. I think it is sad. Criminal, actually, since children are systematically abused (by their own admission), and people die as a direct result of following the “rules”.

I was also blessed to have a visit just last week. Just so happened I had my rosary in my hand when answering the door. I immediately told them I was a convert into the Catholic faith and that I had the fullness of the faith and then I begin to speak about the Eucharist …all at once they had to leave. Hopefully God gave me the words that may have an affect on them one day…it’s all in God’s time. Plant the seed and leave the rest to Him.😉
