Wallace was not a “good” Democrat.

By that time, the Wallace perspective was held by a limited minority in the party; Wallace was very critical of the prevailing view. He had no traction in Democratic presidential primaries and ran in his Presidential election bid as an independent. Nowadays, Wallace-like ideas, that might fall under the rubric of “white nationalism” are found among Republican voters rather than Democrats.

Oh, absolutely, and the same for those who blocked gate at Berkeley preventing white students from entering, and the Antifa fascists who violently attempt to shut down speech, and the nei-Nazis and BLM and KKK.
The actions of the Oakland mayor are no better.
