Oh geez, and I thought our prayers would have saved her from that life…I dont’ know about you but I’m very disappointed.

Lovebirds Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are expecting their first child together.

Cruise’s sister and publicist, Lee Anne Devette, confirmed the great expectation to People magazine Wednesday and said both the couple and “the entire family (are) very excited.”

She declined to reveal details about the due date or the sex of the child. But she said Holmes, 26, “has never felt better.”
 
In my opinion Katie HOlmes looks like a child next to Tom Cruise. I realize that she is an adult but she looks soooo…young.
 
Oh boy, another Scientologist! I hope she doesn’t have Post Pardum Depression and I hope their kid doesn’t get ADD.
 
Sad to say, but I still get excited when I hear about “Catholic” celebrities who take their faith seriously.

Then, I realize how silly I was…

Aside from Caveziel, Gibson, and Ricardo Maltoban (very devout, from what I here), the rest are shams, IMO… 😦

At least she’s keeping the baby, right?

But I guess I’m really disappointed that she allowed for that possibility to begin with.

Same with Jennifer Garner…in that circle of pro-choice people all around them…why do they allow for the possibility of getting pregnant before marriage? and if by some miracle they aren’t pro-choice, but pro-life, then what are they doing playing with fire?

Katie was already engaged…couldn’t she have waited???
It would be wonderful if she would have abstained all together, but the fact she’s open and willing to marry a scientologist reveals she’s not so Catholic in her lifestyle anymore, so I didn’t expect her to remain celibate around him…

But I also didn’t expect her to be irresponsible with that loaded gun.

Nicole did not raise the children as Scientists…
Perhaps Katie won’t either?
Though I suspect she isn’t as strong willed as Nicole and may cave in to pressure by Tom…

I don’t understand how all the reports come back to say her family is happy about all this…

It will be really interesting to see under which church they marry…and whether or not the child will be baptized…

I’m gonna keep praying…

What would you expect the family to say in a press release? Remember that Tom’s sis issued the release. :whacky:
 
I find it sad that folks are even interested in this. Hollywood is a cesspool of anti-convention thinking. It’s a shame when one of them expects a baby and are MARRIE! Imagine that!. And doesn’t anyone think about the poor kids?

I generally do not follow hollywood glitz stories…it’s their own business for the most part, they get what they put out…

but Katie is young, she’s Catholic, and I suspect Tom is manipulating her terribly here…one thing is certain, Katie
is definitely naive…all the more reason to feel for her even
though she honestly believes life is wonderful and everything’s
going to be perfect.

As a fellow Catholic, I’m concerned, but I’m not stupid - in that
I know her life is hers to lead…still, I’m praying for her as I would
any niece or godchild of mine.

Yeah, I think that’s what gets me more sad…
it’s bad enough, but not unusual, to have this 26 year old woman not behaving Catholic at all…
but to have her very openly Catholic family rallying around her, supporting her choices is a disappointment.

Her parents have a prime evangelical opportunity here, to respond Catholicly to their daughter’s news. They are older, wiser, stronger - or should be.

They should not be happy for her, they should be very concerned.
Granted, to tell her it us or him and have her choose him would make them look ‘awful’ in the media, but you know the media would be all over them for quotes and explanations…
they could point to the catechism and Theology of the Body and all sorts of wonderful, beautiful Catholic teachings…
But no…

I find it sad because she is a child herself. I have daughters close in age to her and they are dating. I wonder if they could become so changed, and as I write this I know they could be. Young women in love are blinded really. I pray my children would not get so foolish.
