The charge was anti-Catholic.You are misreading the anti-Catholic bigotry charge. It isn’t that the bigotry is against Catholics, per se. No, the bigotry is against what the Church has traditionally held and taught for 2000 years.
If you want t say that certain people have certain views that are contrary to certain Catholic teaching, that is fair. But it is not appropriate to call that anti_Catholic bigotry. Unless you are willing to call all people who are not Catholics anti-Catholic bigots.
