I agree👍I guess the republicans have already capitulated to the accusers demands in that they have given her until Thursday of this coming week to testify. We all know where this is going…
I’m sure they had a similar delay tactic lined up for any of the nominations.

She didn’t submit this in July to the FBI because then it wouldn’t have worked as a last second stall tactic.

Looks to me like Kavanaugh is finished as a nominee. After this, it will be one more thing, then another, then another.

Kavanaugh made the mistake of being a devoted Catholic, and the Dem party can’t tolerate that.

I agree. Its all, about listening to the women.I say everyone should listen to,a Mark Levin a constitutional lawyer. His perspective on this is very enlightening and spot on!
The Republicans need to stop being such wimps for starters
Just for the record, today is Mark Levin’s birthday. I don’t always check out today’s birthdays but I happened to see that.

The more things change, the more they stay the same… but if I’m missing something, the latest news story, I think Kavanaugh will stay the course.

Many, many questions:

What a bunch of wimps the Repubs are…just vote the guy in…they have the majority in both houses…it was a high school party 35 years ago…good grief…grow some *****…even Trump is turning into a wimp by saying she should be given a hearing…once again…IT WAS A HIGH SCHOOL PARTY 35 YEARS AGO…get over it…elect him to the Supreme Court and move on…“let him (or her) who is without sin cast the first stone”
We don’t even know if it was a high school party. We don’t even know what year.
We don’t even know a location.

I don’t see that. But if it comes to pass, his finish will have more to do with the gross missteps of his supporters - the Ford trash talkers, the ones who opine that being shy of 18 or drunk is mitigating, and ultimately the strange episode of his friend Ed Whelan.

It is inconceivable that this Whelan defense will help Kavanaugh in any way. In fact, it’s so nasty and desperate-seeming that it taints Kavanaugh, despite that fact that he might have had nothing to do with it.

The original OP article is from Bloomberg. I never personally found them to be reliable. I have my doubts that moderates will be driven away from the GOP over the current Supreme Court nomination events. Who knows though. Time will tell.

I don’t see the logic in your post.

If it doesn’t come to pass, it will be because DF threw a doo doo on the table just before the vote. Dems knew there was no chance to clean it up before the vote.
That’s why she kept it hidden in an evelope since July, instead of handing it over to the FBI immediately for investigation.

And YES, isolated incidents as teens are not really relevant.
One should look for patterns of behavior, and the more recent the more relevant.

If Kavanaugh’s nomination is derailed on the basis of such a flimsy and vague accusation, I fear for the future of our county as one based on laws and procedures.

There is no logic in your post.
Just though I should let you known that someone has been flagging for removal posts that point out logical errors. Even ones that correctly point out errors.

The late release of the information that DF has passed on to investigators was of course necessary for the chain of events, but it cannot be claimed as sufficient for his possibly being finished The Committee might have asked for a delay, allowed, non-partisan investigators interview the various parties who might have information on the alleged event and report it to the committee - then called a vote. Instead they have played into the hands of Kavanuaugh’s opponents. I still think he we be confirmed, but if @Ridgerunner is right, this fumbling of by his supporters will be what brought him down.

thanks for the tip, I’ve updated my statement.

Still disagree that you can blame this on his supporter and not the people using it to explicitly call for a full FBI investigation at the last minute.

And I repeat, isolated incidents as teens should have no bearing on his nomination. He earned his nomination in the past 20 yrs, not his first 15. Character flaws show up as patterns of behavior.

They are an international business channel. Their political views should be limited to just that. I turn them off when they don’t affect my portfolio.

Perhaps that is why the lady is asking for a real investigation.

I have no knowledge of Whelan. To me, this is akin to blaming the victim, though. Kavanaugh has led an exemplary life. Out of nowhere comes a woman with uncertain allegations concerning what she remembers as an attack by the son of a judge before whom her parents appeared in a foreclosure. She is an abortion activist. He’s a Catholic whom the Dems suspect of being prolife enough to reverse Roe.

Feinstein hides the ball for two months, then springs it in order to delay a confirmation hearing and to smear Kavanaugh for life.

But you want to blame those who think Kavanugh is being railroaded instead of his attackers.

Well, let’s see. We also have the number 1, 2, 3 and 4 highest FBI people, the acting DOJ, a former FBI director, a former CIA director, and the No. 2 person in the DOJ along with the 3 or 4 guy in the DOJ all involved in a conspiracy to derail the democratic process.

I would say it’s fifteen seconds to midnight, and not much chance of reversing the descent.

You’re welcome.

Blame is a slightly different issue. As they say, there will be plenty of blame to go around if this nominaton fails.
