prayers for SoCal in general and for CA and CAF members in the area.

I live in san diego near the coast, but I’m affected by the smoke.

Please pray for my fellow san diegans, our firefirghters, and our health.

I hope this terrible fire stop.

May God protect us and heal those who are injured.

In Jesus Christ name we pray.

Now, they’re saying that this year’s fires may be even worse by the time they’re done.
To the left is a map of the fire borders as of today (click to enlarge). The red zones are where the fire boundaries are. The purple areas are evacuation zones. The green dot is the approximate location of Catholic Answers.
Some staffers at Catholic Answers have either been evacuated from their homes or are unable to get to work due to road closures (or warnings that they may need to evacuate).
At Catholic Answers the sky is largely gray from smoke, and there is a burnt smell everywhere outside. Parked cars are covered with little bits of ash.
San Diego also needs to up the server capacity of a lot of their emergency web sites that serve up maps like this. Lots of them are slow as snailes or simply time out.

This is devestatingSaw it last night on our 5pm News here in South Australia and was hoping by tonight’s news there would be some sign of the fires abating or being controlled - it is even worse according to our News tonight and the fire fronts are joining up. 500,000 have had to abandon their homes. This is devestating and I am keeping it in prayer …Lord please hear our prayers through Our Lady of Perpetual Help…
 
My sister and brother live down there but most of the fires are south of them so far. The school district in my brothers area is closed and my sister said they are getting tons of smoke and traffic is really bad. My nephew and niece are in Temecula so I don’t know yet if they will have to evacuate.

I’m praying.
