I don’t see how a stalemate has been averted. he is still hyper pro abortion and should be denied communion as any parishioner should be. The Catholic Church needs to take a real stand on this and other equally vexing moral issues instead of shirking their responsibilities out of expediency.what Mark77 said.
I was no fan of his father. I am glad a stalemate centered on the communion issue has hopefully been averted. I hope he finds peace.

I agree. Patrick was dragged kicking and screaming into politics. He tried to play the part of a “Kennedy”. He came to Rhode Island because, in this democrat state, people are motivated by political affectation and the sense that the world owes them something. Patrick was thrust into a position that ill suited him and it took its toll. May he find peace.what Mark77 said.
The Rhode Island Monthly quoted Kennedy, “There’s a hole in the soul that we all try to fill, sometimes with the wrong things, … … Society would tell us to fill it with consumerism. But it’s only really filled through love and service, by serving a high purpose. By doing God’s will.”
Kennedy has struggled with mental health, he has been diagnosed as bipolar, and addiction problems. Hopefully, this is a positive turn for him.

I agree. The kid was out of his depth from the start. I hope he finds peace. I hope we all find peace. Many people put politics before God …He was raised in a family( except for his aunt Eunice and Grandma Rose) that is largely this way
The only eel the need for God when they are between a rock and a hard place because their money shields them from the harsh realities most live with
Lets just hope he sincerely seeks God and not Mammon…
Sort of leaves God out of the picture doesn’t it? I suspect a lot of these kind of people show up at mass only because they think it might get them votes, I am sad to say…It’s impossible to know how his run-in with Bishop Tobin may have effected this decision, but I admired the way Bishop Tobin stepped up and acted like a bishop when push came to shove.
It is sad to read about a Catholic refering to his biological father as "my ultimate source of spirit and strength.”
Oh come on, I don’t think he means anything other than he was extremely close to his biological father. It is sad to read about a Catholic refering to his biological father as "my ultimate source of spirit and strength.”
Perhaps he does want to return to full communion with the Church and realizes he can not do that and be elected as a Democrat in Rhode Island.I agree. The kid was out of his depth from the start. I hope he finds peace. I hope we all find peace.
