Gosh Katherine2,
What aspects of the Voter Guides did you disagree with?
How can you be a Catholic but not follow the Church’s teachings? Your argument is like saying “I’m a Christian, but I don’t fall for all that Jesus stuff”
The Voter Guide is not a Church publication. It was put together by a bunch of partisan operatives after they checked out certain key terms with focus groups. Jesus never used a focus group.

What do you know about partisan operatives? 😉

Ok, I understand that the guides were not written by some church official. However, what precisely do you find objectionable regarding the content? Are you telling me that unless it was written by the church (and by the way…who makes up the church if not us?), it’s a lie? Please say yes so I can throw out all my math, chemistry, and physics books!!!
Let me rephrase your statement: “It was put out by a bunch of faithful christians after they checked out the issues that are among those of highest importance to the faithful”. See how you can spin it to suit your purposes? Please answer my question as to the morally objectionable content of the voter guides.
Your last statement is borderline ridiculous. Jesus never used a focus group because He is God and does not require our (name removed by moderator)ut to put forth what is right. We are not God, and sometimes need the counsel of other faithful catholics.
Jennifer
