Kill animal - is it a sin?

is it a sin to kill an animal if you are killing it fir the meat?
is it a sin to kkill an animal if it is poseing a threat to you or a pet?

The Catholic Church does not teach that it is a sin to kill an animal for meat. We are allowed to eat animals for food. So it is not a sin. Also, you may kill a boar who is going to gore you, etc. That is not a sin. One may not, however, just randomly kill animals for no purpose. That would be wrong.

The Church has what is called the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and you can often find answers to questions like yours in there. I include for you below a direct quote from paragraph 2417 of that book:

**2417 **God entrusted animals to the stewardship of those whom he created in his own image. Hence it is legitimate to use animals for food and clothing. They may be domesticated to help man in his work and leisure. Medical and scientific experimentation on animals is a morally acceptable practice if it remains within reasonable limits and contributes to caring for or saving human lives.
