Why would my will be evil? I am performing the act with the intention of ensuring the baby will go to heaven. Is that evil?
The ends do not justify the means. Killing is morally evil… it makes no matter if you have all the best intentions. It is not your job to decide when people die… can you imagine some loon out there attacking babies and the newly baptized so that they could go directly to heaven? oh, might as well kill everyone on their way out of the confessional too…

I think it is great that you are asking a ton of questions… are you also praying daily to God for the spirit of discernment and understanding? That would help you out a lot too…

So doing that might land you in hell. However, your action would help the children. So in a way you are acting selflessly and doing what is best for them.
omg… this one made me laugh… ohhhhh the sacrifice…

Sorry but that one’s been done already… can u guess by who?

Still, it seems like no matter how bad your action was, it would be good from the kids’ perspective for them to die. I don’t know why everyone feels so sorry for kids when they were killed by their parent.

I don’t mean to mock, but I really do wonder what is wrong with my logic from a Christian perspective.

Yes, I am praying(though to God, not to Jesus, just in case). However,I was not trying to justify the murder of newly baptized babies. Someone above said that so long as David’s baby went to heaven, it was okay for God to kill it. My sarcastic response about murdering infants was supposed to make the point that whether or not the baby goes to heaven would not change the morality of the act of murdering it.

This is a good point EvilAtheist… it is a consolation that the baby will go to heaven. And usually the grief response is one to the loss of the parent. The baby is well off but of course it hurts the parent that they won’t get the joy of raising their child.

The same could also be said when an elderly parent dies of natural causes or after a painful illness. They know that the person is in a better place but it still hurts and they would be missed.

St. Terese of Liseux said to her mother “I wish you would die soon!!” The mother was taken aback but little Terese (she was a young child of maybe 5 or 6 but I could be wrong) said she wished this so she could be in heaven with God… she wished well.

Some Christians are like that… they get all happy when someone dies because they know their loved ones will be in heaven and then are criticized by secularists of being looney…

God doesn’t murder or kill… he calls people home when he sees fit. Prior to Jesus he punished people as he saw fit. He called the baby home as a punishment to David.

When reading the bible… some things are individual and unique experiences between God and people he chooses. What happened between him and David and his son is between them and is part of the history of our salvation…
