Revelation 22:18-19 KJV
For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
When this verse was penned, there was no canon of Scripture. Each letter or book was independent. Therefore the only possible antecedent for “this book” is the book of Revelation, as written on Patmos by John. If could not have referred to The Bible, the New Testament or the KJV.
As to bias, how can one not understand that a version commission by a monarch during the heart of the Reformation would be more likely to be biased than pretty much anything else? It is an excellent translation, for government work, but it has the deficiency of relying only on a single text, on that had serious critical issues.
The bottom line, our faith should only be in Jesus, not some translation. Bibliolatry is no better than Mariolatry.
