Kneel? Stand? What would you do?

I would kneel because here our focus and attention is on the Lord. I once had a friend who said he would not kneel in a similar situation cause he doesn’t want to show anyone up. But this kind of logic means that such a person is caring about what other people think of him when his focus should only be on the Lord. Who cares if other people think your motives are to “show them up”… That should not be ones motive anyway, it should be to show love, adoration, respect, to Jesus Christ.

I even kneel for communion while many in my parish do not, however, i never viewed it as trying to show all other up. Rather it is my way of showing adoration to our Lord… I can’t imagine it any other way, I receive our Lord on my knees.

This is a pretty judgemental remark —Perhaps the person is just doing as he is instructed by The GIRM and his Bishop with regard to unity of postur.

Everybody in our parish kneels during the consecration but stands after having received communion. I think I and only a few others kneel after having received communion. This is because I have been brought up this way. But I know that we should all follow our pastor or bishop since obedience to them is odedience to GOD. Unless, of course, they are obviously wrong.
