James 2:10: “For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all. 11 For He who said, “DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY,” also said, “DO NOT COMMIT MURDER.” Now if you do not commit adultery, but do commit murder, you have become a transgressor of the law…”

. . . the contempt with which you speak of both the women you had sex with is not good. They may be silly for wanting expensive weddings. No doubt they have other faults as well. You showed really, really poor judgment in consorting with women whom you do not respect, even aside from the lapse in chastity.
This gets to the heart of the matter. Now I will grant one teensy tiny point, OP, and that’s that some people would not only fornicate but would use an abortifacient contraceptive and commit an early abortion against a fertilized embryo. So be thankful you did not get tempted in this direction. The rest, you really do need to confess and get your attitude adjusted about, because sin is sin, and arguments about committing Sin A but not Sin B are indeed pointless.
Would it not be better to be humble about the fact that you committed one less mortal sin that to come on here and start talking about how you did such a good deed by not using contraception and talk about how the saints are smiling on you and implying that they are not smiling on those who have been replying to your comments here in ways that you do not like?

You sound like this… “I know I messed up but at least I did not mess up as bad as I could of. I did good. Better than a lot of others would do. I am a better catholic than so many others despite my failure because they do not understand what I understand about contraception. I am so righteous… those other people are not. I did good… can those other people say the same? I do not think so… I am so righteous while they are not…”

That is how you sound, brother. I do not care to judge now righteous you are. I have my own righteousness to worry about. You do sound very immature in this thread though. I say that not as a insult but as a “Heads up” because that can be changed by you. . . . Be humble about it and drop it. God bless.
Here’s a wonderful Litany of Humility that we all need to be aware of and pray often: chastitysf.com/humility.htm Maybe it would also help your girlfriend who wants the outrageously expensive wedding because of what others would think. Just an idea.

You folks do realize that contraception in ANY senario is wrong. Right? This is what is taught by our Church. Maybe some of you folks need to study a bit more. Just because someone has sex outside marriage doesnt give them a green light to use contraception.

The first thing my priest said to me when i confessed this sin is “you didnt use birth control did you?”

Maybe you folks should realize the contraceptive method you teach your kids isnt following Catholic teaching. NO CONTRACEPTIVES. This is our faith. We should be proud to profess it.

I have stood true to my faith even in the face if sin. Are you all doing the same? Or are you preaching or even practicing a lifestyle that feeds the same grave evil of abortion?
I believe Catholic teaching is that contraception is wrong, unless it is for a medical reason. The secondary effect would be contraception. If I’m wrong someone please correct me.

As for standing true to your faith, getting two women pregnant doesn’t sound like it, IMO. I can’t believe that a priest would tell you that they are glad you aren’t using BC, while having sex outsideof wedlock.

A priest asked you if you are using BC. Ha.

I’m not Catholic, but I do try to abide by the rules of the CC, even though I am not bound to them.

OP
On the slim chance of.your not being a troll:
You speak much of the hierarchy of sins, that you had sex with women you were not married to, but managed to avoid using birth control. I assume you know that, for all their faults, the mothers of your children are already superior to you, in that they did not have abortions. The killing of children already conceived, if not born, is right up there with murder! And they did not do this. I know, you would have done all you could to stop them, had they wanted to, but the facts both of anatomy and law made this primary their decision. And they made the right one.
Your whole attitude makes me think of another sin altogether which, if taken to the extreme, is greater than any sin mentioned so far…the sin of pride. Of thinking you are inherently better than others. You should be very careful of this, and this is why.
When you confessed to your priest, you seemed to be glad that he brought up birth control.
When you posted here, after confession, you didn’t immediately express concern for your children and their mothers. You just expressed your pride in not having used birth control.

You have a lot to work out with your priest, and probably with a spiritual advisor/Christian counselor. Plus, all the practical matters, of how you’re going to support your kids, spend time with the one you don’t live with, etc. You have a lot of work to do. You confessed-so, stop dwelling on the sin, and get down to the business at hand. You have a lot of work to do.

Have all you finished throwing your stones yet?

Have you pelted him to death? Well good, that will teach non-catholics who come here to read what we have to say what we are all really about! Wonderful! What a great thing we did for god here! sarcasm There you go! Knock him down! Keep kicking him! He’s almost dead! glee glee glee glee See how good we are!!! He should be like US! We are good and pure and wouldn’t ever do these things he did!!! Look how dumb he is! sarcasm

That’s what a lot of posts here sound like. Its disappointing this is the voice of God’s Church? ???

…and you know what? I don’t care if he is a troll either. He probably is, but one can still handle it with the love of a Christian.

You are coming down on us for telling him Catholic church teaching and that he has sinned. Also, coming down on us for judging him, which is the same thing you are doing to the test of us in this thread. Oh, the irony.

I am no Catholic, but anyone who has a hint of what Catholicism is about knows that the OP sinned by having sex out of wedlock. This is the OP’s second child out of wedlock. On top of it, the OP is trying to bait people into a debate. But, we are the ones who should lighten up?

Great, maybe you could show us how it is done.

When we teach and preach God's ways, we do it with love and care. I gave warning a few pages back, which went ignored, obviously, though its understandable people might not have read all the pages to have seen it.

Even the OP knows what he did was wrong. ** He admitted to it.** Yet practically everyone here has been attacking him, and I have no idea why or fail to see how the responses are to help him come back to the Lord. He is separated! God wants his house to be full and St. Paul retorts us to pull those from the flames even if they have stinking garments. (you too one day might be in teh same situation!) To me, its all of those who want to pin him down and pin the ugly mark of sin on him need to be reproved, as The Lord tells us to. And I did that. No irony. Just truth. This man admitted to his guilt and sin. Why should we continue to throw it on his already heavily laden back? Worldly people act like that.

We are called to reprove rebuke, reprimand, admonish, reproach, chide those in the church who we see are doing wrongly- that's what I did, but that is not what is being done to the OP here, at least not in tone. Its harsh. Its acidic. If the OP already admitted to his sin, why beat him up for it? You don't need to keep harping on his wrong. Dont you see that won't help him? I don't get what all of you think you are doing! I don't understand what you are doing in light of the Lord's teaching. If you all can't see that he's just lashing out because he's hurt about something, where is your prudence of the matter?! Handle hurt hearts with care! ... even ones that are bitter, arrogant or mean spirited. Catch more flies with honey sort of thing. Acid answers are not going to make an already acid heart less acidic.

I have read through all of the posts and this is what I have to say:

1). Obsessing over birth control and arguing with Catholics over Church teaching should be low on your list of priorities under the circumstances.

2). Stay away from falling naked girls who suffer from princess syndrome.

3). Consider adoption.

Great, maybe you could show us how it is done.
James 3:17

True Wisdom from Above
…16For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing. 17But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy. 18And the seed whose fruit is righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

So tell me, you haven’t in your life made a bit error in sin? Ever fallen? Do you want to tell David from the Old Testament what you said to this OP here?! How about to yourself? Can you honestly tell me if someone said those words to you it would have helped you find your way back to the Lord using the tone that was used so often here?!

How else should I look upon what happened in this thread as if it wasn’t some sort of fist fight? Sure looked that way to me.

There is no prudence in your thinking. Its shallow. It does not reach his real wound. You are in essence mocking him.

I think you would do well to read the posting history of the op. All of it.

I also think it odd that you accuse others of being on a high horse while judging them from your own steed. Waaaaaaay up there.

The old, “the only sin we can come down on is being judgemental”

Are you being intolerant of perceived intolerance?

Matthew 25:40

The Sheep and the Goats

Am I supposed to post all the bible passages condemning sin now?

Some people prefer long, indulgent posts.

I prefer to get to the point.

Mocking? Can you really take a person serious when they claim naked women are falling on him and ending up pregnant?

Are you mocking me or just calling me imprudent and shallow?

So, are we supposed to sit back and pretend that the OP hasn’t sinned in having premarital relations? Are we supposed to pretend like it is okay?

Please read the OP’s history and the threads he has started. This isn’t the first controversial thread that he has started.

Sure, he could be lashing out because he is hurt, but he could also find a more charitable way to pose his views and questions. Basically taunting us to tell him what he wants to hear so that he can point his fingers at us and judge us, is NOT charitable.

We shouldn’t judge him but it is okay for you to judge us for judging the OP? Again, the irony! It is ironic! You don’t see it but it is there.

Let us not pretend that we all don’t judge at some point. We have ALL done it, whether consciously or not. There isn’t one person on this planet who can say that they have never judged anyone or anything.

Since you seem to have the answers, what should the OP do?

You are saying that we aren’t leading him back to God. So, how are you leading the OP back to God?

What’s wrong, did I slap you with truth, or shall I kiss everyone with a lie and tell them they did splendidly in winning back a soul to Christ with their acid words to the OP?

Honestly, what does this man NEED? He already admitted he did wrong. He’s already admitted he hates himself for what he did. He’s already in a heap of trouble. He’s already grasping at straws to find some sort of semblance that what he did wasn’t so bad… He’s suffering. He is lost. He is struggling. Are we as Christians supposed to keep barreling away at him? Is this really going to help? That is “perceived” intolerance? I don’t think so. He’s already judged himself. This man needs something different. His wounds go deeper. Shall we throw him into the fire some more or shall we offer some balm instead?

Yes.

Here’s a start:

“Is ANYONE here loyal to the faith and Catholic from birth? Or is the life blood within Catholocism all the converts?”

forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?t=995197

“Has Catholocism watered down marriage? Is marriage in Roman Catholicism not what it used to be?”

forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?t=986615

“Statistically, the vast bulk of users on this forum are engaged in the use of artificial contraception.”

forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?t=985345

That’s just from the last three months. It’s just really aggressive and it’s unpleasant to deal with the unrelenting negativity and unnecessary offensiveness. At some point, I just want to say, “Keep your eyes on your paper, buddy, rather than thinking about how everybody else is a sinning sinner.”
