PRISTINA --The Specialist Prosecutor’s Office (SPO) in the Netherlands has filed a 10-count indictment charging Kosovar President Hashim Thaci and “others” for war crimes and crimes against humanity allegedly committed during or after the 1998-99 Kosovo conflict.

The SPO in The Hague said in a statement on June 24 that the suspects “are criminally responsible for nearly 100 murders,” as well as “enforced disappearance of persons, persecution, and torture.”
This is reasonably big news… I say “reasonably” because a number of people are not really concerned with this being “world news” even though, that’s the title of this forum. We should know what is happening in the world.

But even then, then people take sides.

I’ll just say for the record, still fairly frequently, people are indicted, put on trial for what were the wars in the former Yugoslavia. People of all ethnic backgrounds from over there though, there are records on who is indicted the most.

Very serious charges.

There is a website, “Balkan Insight” that is pretty informative on all of this.

I read a book on all of those Yugoslavian wars and a few on the history as well.
