When your soul eventually rises up to heaven to see God, as it will, and along the way in the midst of the crescendo of exhileration and freedom and upwelling love, you won’t be calling it a ‘serpent’ then, but ‘grace.’

9 out of 10 mystics surveyed agree!
Grace is not natural, though, which you claim of kundalini (unlike its “orthodox” proponents).
Christian anthropology holds that man is a union of body and soul such that the soul is the essential form of the body (a point infallibly defined by the Council of Vienna). The soul is a substantial form, not a type of energy. The Catechism points out that “it is because of its spiritual soul that the body made of matter becomes a living, human body” (CCC 365). From a spiritual perspective, it is the soul that is the life-principle of the body, not something else.
Consequently, there is no spiritual “life energy” animating the body. Any energy used as part of the body’s operations—such as the electricity in our nervous systems—is material in nature, not spiritual. The various forms of Hinduism and Buddhism that posit the existence of a life energy (ki or kundalini) interpret that energy as spiritual. Since this is contrary to Christian theology, it is inappropriate for Christians to participate in activities based on this belief.

Kundalini is often called the divine mother or mother goddess.

Can anyone not see where this deception is headed??

Mary, our beautiful pure blessed mother is the mother of Jesus Christ and humanity. She is not a serpent coiled near our bottoms ready to snake up our spines.

These false beliefs also incorporate a 'christ consciousness" instead of a belief in Jesus of Nazareth the second person of the blessed Trinity. Supposedly we all can be the great I am and become gods by awakening this power and ascending.Poppycock!
The Catechism of the Catholic church paragraph 675:

Before Christ’s second coming the Church must pass through a final trial that will shake the faith of many believers. The persecution that accompanies her pilgrimage on earth will unveil the “mystery of iniquity” in the form of a religious deception offering men an apparent solution to their problems at the price of apostasy from the truth. The supreme religious deception is that of the Antichrist, a pseudo-messianism by which man glorifies himself in place of God and of his Messiah come in the flesh

Mary told Sister Lucia of Fatima that satan is engaging in a decisive battle against the Holy Virgin. I think we are in the midst of that battle.
Code:
Proponents of Kundalini believe that they have this thing called that name and it is some process of awakening this Serpent Energy. Now imagine them going to a Kundalini forum and saying I'm a Catholic come to my faith. The others would say "Why? we have Kundalini."

One of the underlying themes of Hindu Mysticism is that God and Satan are different aspects of the same being, different sides of the same coin. So when Kundalini proponents proclaim everything is Kundalini essentially they are saying their god is everything good and evil in the universe; but they have a gripe on it and can manipulate it.
Their god is a creature of the universe whereas the True God created the universe. There are many variations on this theme; but all of them attempt to diminish Jesus Christ.
Code:
Jesus Christ established His Church with Power and Authority; but most of all, it is Complete and the Only way to God the Father & the Heaven of God. To proclaim otherwise is blasphemy.

They will protest loudly but consider if the Saints possessed this Kundalini and this was some sort of universal, unnamed process in Sanctifican then why do they have to separate themselves from the Church? They are in fact teaching a gospel different than the One taught by the Apostles.

From the standpoint of those practicing this occult ritual already the demon has in their mind separated them from "us" and the "us" are orthodox traditional Catholics. People write that the Church has failed them but practice of these rites invoke hormonal and brain chemistry changes that they think has saved them. Kundalini practice produces a chemical illusion of Spiritual Well-Being no different then that produced by drugs. It also damages the body and leaves people physically sick and burned out litterally.

The experience of God at firs is humbling, and terrifying but as time passes it becomes Sweet. The experience of Satan at first is wildly ecstatic, pleasurable and many feel that they have Heaven but it is Satan's heaven that we know is Hell.

Also as Christians we know that the only Way to Heaven is accepting the Covering of the Blood of Christ over our entire being. To believe otherwise is denying Christ. To believe the act of practicing Kundalini brings you to Heaven is Blasphemy. Our righteousness without Christ is like filthy rags before God (Isaiah 63, 60). So we Catholics approach God with humility knowing we are sinners.

This Kundalini is basically wrong and alien to Christians. Kundalini practicioners are not compelled to go to Kundalini forums. No, they come to sow tares in the Wheat. There are far more new victims in a Cathoic forum.

After our Blessed Mother appeared to St. Bernadette at Lourdes, France in the next five years there were hundreds of false apparitions reported. Where ever there is something Holy evil comes to mar, destroy, deceive, and persecute Christ.

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. [12] For the things that are done by them in secret, it is a shame even to speak of. [13] But all things that are reproved, are made manifest by the light; for all that is made manifest is light. [14] Wherefore he saith: Rise thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead: and Christ shall enlighten thee. [15] See therefore, brethren, how you walk circumspectly: not as unwise,

[16] But as wise: redeeming the time, because the days are evil. [17] Wherefore become not unwise, but understanding what is the will of God. [18] And be not drunk with wine, wherein is luxury; but be ye filled with the holy Spirit, [19] Speaking to yourselves in psalms, and hymns, and spiritual canticles, singing and making melody in your hearts to the Lord; [20] Giving thanks always for all things, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to God and the Father:

It is right and healthy to avoid those practices which are spiritually dangerous and which offend God. Sorcery and witchcraft offend Him deeply.

I did not want to bring this up but i read somehwere that the kundalini can also be awakended by illicit sex especially sodomy. If that is not a red flag I don’t know what is.

Thank you for the prayers and the compliment. My heart leaps when I see people defending the Catholic Faith because I believe Christ wants us to. Christ wants us to do these things out of love and for God’s glory.

I am happy for your health and your ability to join this discussion. I feel we need to tend to our relationship with the Lord and not think for God or defend God. He is perfectly capable to do these things. We don’t have to make our God better than others because then we are making other Gods. Can’t we see God in everything we do and listen to him in everything. I don’t think we have to fight it. It seems we Catholics which means universal are always putting other faiths down thinking it makes us right. Can’t we be inspired by God in other faiths?

This is my final thought and post on this topic:

All that I have seen, read, and heard on the topic of kundalini and eastern mysticism points clearly to the fact it is the same esoteric knowledge practiced by the gnostics to acheive enlightenment.

Irenaus “Against Heresies” decribes many of the same religious deceptions rampant today. We are looking at mystery babylon.

People of all faiths and religions can do by the natural law written on the heart that which is pleasing to God.loving ones neighbor and ones enemy in purity of thought. Nothing which is good in other religions should be criticized or dismissed as we all seek love peace and happiness.

However syncretism and blending other core beliefs into our faith is wrong. Catholic mysticm is not the same as kundalini. The saints were given a great gift from God not because of certain breathing practices or prayers but because of their great humility and love for Him.

God bless all,and thanks for your time. Feel free to continue the discussion, but as far as I am concerned my question has been answered. The Holy Spirit is not the same as kundalini.

Jesus is the way the truth and the life and NO one comes to the Father but by him.

Syncretism is what led ancient Israel astray. They tried to serve both the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and the gods of other nations. Oftentimes we tend towards syncretism within our political leanings. Attempting to serve both God and Mammon is just as wrong for conservatives, as it is for open minded people in their attempts to serve both God and Kundalini.

Reading the autobiography of Gopi Krishna, one can admire his desire not to serve mammon. Unfortunately, he honored and served Kundalini and Shiva, and not the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

May the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in Christ Jesus, help us to remain true to Him alone.

In a discussion on kundalini and the Holy Spirit, it is understandable that some try to tie it into a discussion of what Hindus believe about it, even though that was not the topic of discussion. This is because the word is widely seen as a part of mystical Hindusim. But kundalini is not the same as Hinduism, nor goddess worship nor reincarnation.

Kundalini is a universal human spiritual experience, totally separate and independent from the confines of what any particular religion tries to box it into. Is kundalini dangerous? Certainly, only insofar as kundalini manifests the spirit, and the spiritual life itself, Christian or otherwise, is froth with danger; hence the prerequisite for the cardinal virtues of fortitude and faith.

It was odd, though, to see the discussion of kundalini and the Holy Spirit devolve by some into discussions on witchcraft, devil worship, Lucifer, the anti-Christ, blasphemy, deception, apostasy, idolatry, and even homosexual sex.

As a wise man once said: “Wherever there is something Holy, evil comes to mar, destroy, deceive, and persecute Christ.”

And it could be added: “And afterwards it pats itself on the back for thinking it was doing God’s holy will in doing so.”

.

Kundalini is the name of a Hindu goddess. Why use the name of a Hindu goddess to explain a mystical experience? How is this ‘universal spiritual experience’ imparted and received?

From the very beginning of the apostolic church, water baptism preceded the anointing of oil, and the laying on of hands by an ordained minister for the impartation and reception of the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Simon Magus tried to buy this gift from the apostle Peter.

How could this gift of the Holy Spirit be equated with kundalini, described by you as a ‘universal spiritual experience’? And if it is not equated with the Holy Spirit, why should any Catholic or Christian desire a spiritual experience apart from the Holy Spirit?

God’s peace.

Kundalini is the name of a Hindu goddess. Why use the name of a Hindu goddess to explain a mystical experience?
Precisely. Why, indeed?

The Roman Catholic Church has possibly the most developed and integrated spirituality of all faith traditions. That spirituality includes an abundance of terminology to describe the action of the Holy Spirit – terminology derived from ancient Christianity through modern times, in conjunction with the experience of mystics and insightful writers, many of whom have been canonized. Catholic spirituality is sufficient unto itself and has an integrity, comprehensively. There’s no need to “borrow” terms from other traditions or to strain to make connections, including inappropriate connections which belong to polytheistic traditions

In general, I find that those who feel a “need” to borrow from, explain, or construct artificial equations with Christian experience relative to other traditions are insufficiently educated in the fullness of Catholic spiritual tradition (prayer, The Writings of the Fathers, lectio divina itself, Lives of the Saints, and fine orthodox writers from Tomas a Kempis to C.S. Lewis to contemporary spiritual writers (both religious and lay people) on prayer & contemplation.

Indeed. That kundalini is a truth which happens to be described in another faith tradition, it is therefore a part of the Catholic faith, because the Catholic faith contains all truth.

No. Kundalini is not “a part of the Catholic faith.” The term is outside of the Catholic faith. Whether the experience of the Holy Spirit does or does not have in common with it experiences described by other faith traditions is very theoretical (academic). It may be of interest to those who study Comparative Religions, but for the Catholic, kundalini is an imported term, not a Catholic term.

P.S. Stylites, please graduate to becoming a “professional” Catholic. I mean that in all charity and sincerity. 🙂 When you become more literate in Catholicism, you will not be attracted to borrowing terms from contradicting religions, which confuses and unnecessarily complicates the Christian journey, which is complicated and challenging enough.

Certainly the term in outside of the Catholic faith, but the truth of kundalini is not outside of the Catholic faith, since the Catholic faith contains all truth.

Thanks, but amateurs do it out of love; professionals do it for payment, prestige and accolades.

The term is not proper to the Catholic faith. Period. We’re talking about terms here. And we have been specifically warned against a syncretic approach to our Catholicism, by our Church leaders. Borrowing terms from other religions, in a way so as to draw an equivalency or interchangeability, is an activity which belongs to syncretism. Catholicism is not a syncretic religion.

No. We all “profess” (literally) our faith, and in professing it, we are bound to know it thoroughly (and to learn better what we only know insufficiently or inaccurately). Consecrated religious literally make professions of vows, and they are paid pittances (stipends), and in fact live a vow of poverty, which relegates them pretty much to a subsistence lifestyle. They hardly enter the professed stage “for payment, prestige, and accolades.” You are using secular language and concepts inappropriately in a religious context.

So I repeat my advice :): Become a “professional” Catholic (in level of expertise, commitment, and authenticity to the terms & concepts of Catholicism), rather than a witness to a syncretic set of beliefs which confuse and distract.

I’m not combining different forms of religious beliefs and practices, just stating a truth that kundalini exists in all mystical traditions and is the root of all human-supernatural experiences. This has nothing to do with the beliefs and practices of religion.
