LA acting studio begins mission to create actors with ‘spiritual integrity’

Holy Wood Acting Studio had its grand opening on March 25 to begin its mission to create talented actors with the “emotional and spiritual maturity” to endure the challenges in their careers.

“The opening of Holy Wood Acting Studio represents a new era for the entertainment industry, an era where actors will not only thrill audiences with amazing performances, but also inspire them through moral, intellectual, and spiritual integrity,” the Culver City, Calif. studio said in a statement.

Are they going to be playing Madonna’s “Material Girl” in reverse to attempt to undo all the broken homes and ruined relationships the message has caused?

I am not familiar with the influence of acting studios, and wonder if someone more knowledgeable can put this article in perspective. Will graduates of this studio have an easier time landing roles? Are other, established, studios more influential? How many acting studios are there in the greater LA region?

I’d like to think this new endeavor will be fruitful. However, the latter half of the article does read a bit like a press release from a new school looking for students. If acting studios are common, what is the likelihood of this new one having an impact on film or television roles?
