**Exactly, Jesus did pray to his metaphorical Father (God) because Jesus was not his own Father (God). Was he, then? If yes then you are not a Catholic.Jesus prayed to God, His Father, as the Son in flesh.
The Father = God Almighty
Jesus’ Father is Father of Adam, you me and all too.
Jesus is Son in Flesh (metaphorically) as Adam and all Jews are sons of God.
All Jews are called gods by God in OT ( Book Of Psalms
