This is a Biblical string of truth (or as you call it logic). This has noting to do wth the Catholic teaching, because it is under the law (so pre church).
 
The only asnwer is that the women represts many things because if it was just mary
Then it contradicts catholic thoelogy.

Now there is a lot of arguments ( and some contradictions) that the women is also the Church and the nation of israel
