This message deals with intimate girl issues, GUYS don’t read
Ok so I’ll admit that I didn’t read this ENTIRE thread. But Ericka, I can totally understand. Luckily, God will never give a task that is impossible, so we all know that there are beautiful and awesome clothes out there for everyone, that represents our dignity as men and women. God called us to live in this time for a reason not so that we could reject it, but to sanctify it. I am 22 and don’t consider myself frumpy nor skanky. I too, came to a point in my life (it happened in highschool) when I realized that I just wasn’t dressing as dignified as I could. I wasn’t a skank, but I wasn’t a classy lady either. I am California girl through and through, and I still am I just express in a more classy and dignified manner. I used to wear short shorts and super tight shirts, thinking “as long as you can’t see my boobs, it’s fine right?” And what was worse, my dressing was reflected in my behavior. My battle with modesty has been four years coming, I’ve won some big trials. At one point I thought frumpiness and blahness was the key, and I was wrong again. True beauty is the key. A truly beautiful outfit will lead a man to get to know you (who YOU are, not what your body is.) A truly beautiful outfit will draw attention to your face and eyes, not your legs, butt, or chest. I have attended a catholic college with a dress code for four years now and I have some good solid, fun and creative advice. So before i blab on ANYMORE here we go!
For Summer Wear:
Banana Republic Outlet: Beautiful button down blouses, Linen bermuda shorts and capris!
J-Crew light cotton chino pants
Worthington (supplied at Penny’s) makes some really cute shirts!
Target: carries a lot of cute cardigans look for half length sleeve to wear open over a cute clouse
Trouble with Low Cut shirts: Camis CAMIS CAMIS. Make sure they come high enough to cover up the begining of your cleavage, get them in numerous colors to add layers, textures, and color to your shirts. Safety pins or a cute vintage broach can bring fabric together on blouses that open too low on the chest.
Trouble with somewhat see through Shirts- Buy a thick strapped high on the chest tank top or cami (Nordstrom has a good lingerie section of highquality camis,
www.shadeclothing.com also has camis and shirts some of their stuff looks awesome and fashionable, some of it looks a little tight.)
Trouble with Tight shirts: Don’t put shrinkables in the dryer! If a shirt is a little tight, try putting it on and putting your fist in the trouble areas (usually chest and mid-upper back)to push the fabric out and stretch it out. if this doesn’t make it better or the fabric goes back to its original shape, then maybe its time to say goodbye. Avoid clothing made with spandex, spandex was invented for one reason, and that reason does not help our cause.
Ask yourself: Does this draw attention to a specific area of my body? Do I feel comfortable? Do I look dignified?
Modesty is NOT just about covering up, it’s about how you present yourself. If you’re completely covered in a neon pink and green mumu, that’s not modest it draws undoe and undignified attention. It’s a virtue, its a habit of dress and habit of behavior.
Just remember, a woman’s beauty inspires men to be virtuous, so don’t reject your beauty, rather, reject those fashions and clothes that rob you of beauty and make you into an object.
Find a good and solid girlfriend whose modesty your trust and ask her flat out for an honest answer. “Is this too tight?” Does this draw attention to my Butt" etc…
I hope this helps! I totally want to support my sisters with this beautiful task!

Happy Dressing! I wrote a paper on dress in my Theology of the Body Class, if you want it just message me!
God Bless!
