Lack of security in salvation

That is a false understanding of being born again…One’s life must be transformed, can you read Johns letters and see yourself in them? are fruits of a transformed life evident in your actions and decisions? have you made Jesus the Christ the LORD of your life?

Being born again is a change of heart—a spiritual transformation
and after being “born again” and having “a spiritual transformation”, you never sin or if you do sin, you do not need to be repentant of that sin?

16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate to be with you always, 17 the Spirit of truth, which the world cannot accept, because it neither sees nor knows it. But you know it, because it remains with you, and will be in you.18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. 19 In a little while the world will no longer see me, but you will see me, because I live and you will live. 20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father and you are in me and I in you. 21 Whoever has my commandments and observes them is the one who loves me. And whoever loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and reveal myself to him."

Yes, but Jesus wasn’t promising the spirit to each and every single person individually. If it was promised to us, then we wouldn’t have 30,000 different protestant demoninations, all claiming to be guided by the bible alone. This full truth through the spirit, was promised to Christ’s Apostles, alone. That is to whom Christ is speaking.

It’s very sad that this is one of the most common errors in protestantism.

God’s Everlasting Love

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? - Apostle Paul

I think you guys need to answer the Apostle’s questions above. And your answers are?

The Apsotles didn’t just sit back and allow error to be taught with out saying anything about it. Aren’t you guys rather partial to Romans? Well what is Romans all about? It’s a repudiation of the Jewdisers (spelling). In fact, many of Paul’s Espitles are all about correcting mis-teaching. In Timoth, he specifically directs Timoth not to allow “any other teaching [or doctrine]” to be taught.

This isn’t to say you guys are damned. But it is saying that the teaching you profess is in error. There can only be a single objective truth of God. There can’t be multiple truths of God, specific to you depending upon which denomination you are.

Please don’t gloss over my questions. Could you please answer the Apostle Paul’s questions since it is directly related to the thread topic?

Though we can choose to separate ourselves from Him.
Do you see yourselves as part of God’s creation?

Perhaps you forgot the Paul who wrote that, also wrote Romans 11,
16 For if the firstfruit be holy, so is the lump also: and if the root be holy, so are the branches. 17 And if some of the branches be broken, and thou, being a wild olive, art ingrafted in them, and art made partaker of the root, and of the fatness of the olive tree, 18 Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee. 19 Thou wilt say then: The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in. 20 Well: because of unbelief they were broken off. But thou standest by faith: be not highminded, but fear.
21 For if God hath not spared the natural branches, fear lest perhaps he also spare not thee. 22 See then the goodness and the severity of God: towards them indeed that are fallen, the severity; but towards thee, the goodness of God, if thou abide in goodness, otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. 23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again. 24 For if thou wert cut out of the wild olive tree, which is natural to thee; and, contrary to nature, were grafted into the good olive tree; how much more shall they that are the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree? 25 For I would not have you ignorant, brethren, of this mystery, (lest you should be wise in your own conceits), that blindness in part has happened in Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles should come in.

Do you see yourselves as part of God’s creation?
haha what sort of question is that. Did I create myself?

What are the Old and New Testaments about if not about the dire necessity of REMAINING Faithful to God.

Okay, then I take your response as a yes that you are part of creation. Now, let’s read how the Apostle Paul answers his own questions.

God’s Everlasting Love

“For your sake we are being killed all the day long;
we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Care to prove this is an outright lie? Or are you just going to make the claim expecting us to take you for your word?

The actual number of distinct Protestant denominations is hard to calculate, but has been estimated to be over thirty thousand,[7] although often new groups are formed.

The number of Protestant denominations is estimated to be in the thousands, and attempts at unification through various ecumenical movements have not kept pace with the tendency of groups to divide or new ones to develop. The total number of Protestants in the world today is estimated at around 600 million.
So are you suggesting that each of these don’t claim to be lead by the bible alone? And that they have the true interpetation?

You lost me my friend. What does Protestant denominations and Bible alone have to do with assurance, full atonement for sins, and security of the beilever found in the finished work of Christ?

If your NT is accurate, then it contains:

drbo.org/chapter/52011.htm
16 For if the firstfruit be holy, so is the lump also: and if the root be holy, so are the branches. 17 And if some of the branches be broken, and thou, being a wild olive, art ingrafted in them, and art made partaker of the root, and of the fatness of the olive tree, 18 Boast not against the branches. Okay, then I take your response as a yes that you are part of creation. Now, let’s read how the Apostle Paul answers his own questions.

God’s Everlasting Love

Anything else … as in, apart from ourselves. We have the power to separate ourselves from anything we wish.🙂

I would like to apologize if my post was offensive to anyone. That was not my intent.
I would find the idea that salvation is not assured disturbing. That having been said I can say that there is a flaw with the once saved, always saved thology. If you are elect you also regenerate. Election and repentance go hand in hand. So when you sin are you really electt? You see it comes full circle and you still aren’t sure of your salvation.

Anything else … as in, apart from ourselves. We have the power to separate ourselves from anything we wish.🙂
You believe in the sovereignity of man which is not truth. Man make think he is sovereign.

Would you please comment 2nd Adam?
I think it would be wise to continue with the Apostle’s thought. Paul is addressing two groups of people consisting of Jews and Gentiles. The believing Jew is now a Christian where there is no Jew and Gentile distinction. If the unbelieving Jew is ingrafted back again, it will be through Jesus Christ. What will the unbelieving Jew becomes once they are ingrafed back in again, but simply Christians where there is no Jew or Gentile distinction. These are difficult passages… with the only response is to fall to our knees in worship of our Triune God.

Romans 11

The Remnant of Israel

I ask, then, has God rejected his people? By no means! For I myself am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, a member of the tribe of Benjamin. God has not rejected his people whom he foreknew. Do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he appeals to God against Israel? “Lord, they have killed your prophets, they have demolished your altars, and I alone am left, and they seek my life.” But what is God’s reply to him? “I have kept for myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.” So too at the present time there is a remnant, chosen by grace. But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace.

What then? Israel failed to obtain what it was seeking. The elect obtained it, but the rest were hardened, as it is written,

“God gave them a spirit of stupor,
eyes that would not see
and ears that would not hear,
down to this very day.”

And David says,

“Let their table become a snare and a trap,
a stumbling block and a retribution for them;
let their eyes be darkened so that they cannot see,
and bend their backs forever.”

Gentiles Grafted In

So I ask, did they stumble in order that they might fall? By no means! Rather through their trespass salvation has come to the Gentiles, so as to make Israel jealous. Now if their trespass means riches for the world, and if their failure means riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their full inclusion mean!

Now I am speaking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry in order somehow to make my fellow Jews jealous, and thus save some of them. For if their rejection means the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance mean but life from the dead? If the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, so is the whole lump, and if the root is holy, so are the branches.

But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, although a wild olive shoot, were grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing root of the olive tree, do not be arrogant toward the branches. If you are, remember it is not you who support the root, but the root that supports you. Then you will say, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.” That is true. They were broken off because of their unbelief, but you stand fast through faith. So do not become proud, but fear. For if God did not spare the natural branches, neither will he spare you. Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God’s kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness. Otherwise you too will be cut off. And even they, if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for God has the power to graft them in again. For if you were cut from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, the natural branches, be grafted back into their own olive tree.

The Mystery of Israel’s Salvation

Lest you be wise in your own sight, I want you to understand this mystery, brothers: a partial hardening has come upon Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And in this way all Israel will be saved, as it is written,

“The Deliverer will come from Zion,
he will banish ungodliness from Jacob”;
“and this will be my covenant with them
when I take away their sins.”

As regards the gospel, they are enemies of God for your sake. But as regards election, they are beloved for the sake of their forefathers. For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. For just as you were at one time disobedient to God but now have received mercy because of their disobedience, so they too have now been disobedient in order that by the mercy shown to you they also may now receive mercy. For God has consigned all to disobedience, that he may have mercy on all.

Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!

“For who has known the mind of the Lord,
or who has been his counselor?”
“Or who has given a gift to him
that he might be repaid?”

For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.
