Her music is terrible, she isn’t very pretty, and now she’s talking negatively about the Holy Father. She has nothing going for her at all.

Ah gee another spoiled sport cradle-lapsed Catholic who’s still bitter at the Church over the fact that her knuckles were rapped over by the strict nun at school.

This puts her in the same company as Stalin,Napoleon, and everyone else who wrote off the Papacy.
When the Papal States were destroyed.
Most of their creations have been consigned to the dust piles of history but the papacy is still here.

What does she mean by ‘breed?’ 2 people of the same gender can not procreate
In the days when folks believed in vampires, it was thought that the vampires bred through their victims.
If a lot of homosexual men are that way because they were sodomised as children, there`d be a parallel. 🤷

In the 1960s, John Lennon proclaimed that The Beatles were more popular than God…

Alfred Lord Tennyson wrote “The Brook”.
The last lines are:
For men may come and men may go,
But I go on forever.

There`s nothing ephemeral about Peter and the Church.

… And to top it off she MEANT to say “infallible”! :dancing:

I am an orthodox Catholic- but really, is she so very off in what she says? This culture is fast making God irrelevant, how can the Pope be more relevant that Christ? The last fifty years have been a disaster for the Church (and Western culture in general-including all Europe, in fact-Iceland to Russia)- She’s a victim. Who knows? Perhaps if someone had taught her the truth about God, Christ, the church, she might (like the great majority of all those who sincerely undertake a study of historical Christianity)- she might now be a dedicated Christian mother. But we’ll never know-the last decades were what they were. 🤷

I do feel that she is most decidedly wrong. This forum alone is proof of that fact. Much of what you’ve said is true, however, nothing we can do can erase original sin so a litany of fears, worries and apparent demonstrated decline will always be with us.

Didn’t John Lennon say, “The Beatles are more important than God”? And if I’m not mistaken wasn’t the public’s reaction against the Beatles very pronounced. (This was a little before my time so I’m not certain of my facts.) Now we have Gaga’s statement and the public sorta shrugs their shoulders. So does this non-reaction mean that: (1) the Public agrees with Gaga; or, (2) The Public is bored with celebrities making stupid statements and just don’t care?

Peace, g.

Apparently the Pope is so irrelevent she feels the need to comment about him. Love him or hate him; people refuse to ignore him.

Well done, Gaga. Well done.

We are all here to defend you Pope Benedict! As to the misguided and lost Lady Gaga,

Makes me wonder where and how Lady Gaga got misguided having spent much time in a Catholic Convent. Obviously secularism got the best of her. For myself I don’t spend much time , energy and effort thinking about her other than seeing her paraded in news headlines.

Praying for her conversion would best suit her dire needs in giving any serious thought about her.

her school was not a Convent. That is simply the name of the school as it used to be one.

This is the creme-de-la-creme of private schools in NYC. That’s the reason she went there, and the reason many prominent Catholics AND non-Catholics send their kids there.

It’s THE place for prominent folks to send their kids. I don’t know how much the school actually focusses on the faith.

Just to clarify.

Perhaps you can clarify this encyclopedia

WOW

Just…wow…

Scary…

It was like watching Marilyn Manson singing a duet with Tony Bennett. Are they related because they look an awful lot alike…

Poor woman. I will pray for her.
They are twins,separated at birth!😉

Yeah, it was founded by the Congregation of the Sacred Heart, and is run by them. The principal is a member of the Congregation of the Sacred Heart. The teachers are lay save a few examples of religious. The school is not held in a Convent.

It’s an exclusive school for exclusive people. It’s for the “who’s who” in Manhattan. That’s just what it is. Like, royalty sends their kids there- literally.

I’m not speaking negatively of the school. If I could send my daughter there- and afford- I would. The is a FABULOUS educational institution- likely one of the best in the nation.

I just don’t believe it focusses on Catholicism.

My elite boy’s high school, Regis (after St. John Francis Regis) on 84th St. between Madison and Park Avenues was a few blocks away from Convent. Girls at Convent wouldn’t be caught dead with any of us, and to them we were little better than the stuff you scrap off your shoes after you’ve stepped in it. Oh, so social! Oh, so posh! Oh, so wealthy!

(As an all scholarship school, we paid no tuition. The girls paid astronomical tuition fees.)

I did read that they take in a few scholarship kids- which is really cool. I hope the girls who pay treat the others well. My family certainly wouldn’t pass the sniff test there. Me, with a $300 jacket- I don’t think so. 😃

But I’ve looked at this school online- go to Youtube. These girls literally look like supermodels- every hair is in it’s place and every detail- perfect. You only see kids like this on TV.

So Rich, is your school still scholarship-based? Somehow I doubt it but that would be cool if it were so.

Yes, it is. It got a huge endowment decades ago, and also relies on Alumni donations. An amazing school whose “standards have fallen” IMO: we had to wear suit jackets and ties to school when I went there, but now the boys can go without jackets and ties. 😃

I had four years of Latin, three years of Attic Greek, and two years of modern language (French or German; I chose German). The only other choice we had was Chemistry (my choice) or Physics. It was really, really hard. But, naturally - it was a Jesuit school!

Back then, the girls were just as perfect - the mantra was gh, hg: girdle and hose, hat and gloves! 😃
