Whatever gives you the idea that Jesus would have MARCHED in a gay rights parade? Jesus loves all people the same, no matter what, but He would tell gays to “sin no more”.
Why would he not? He embraced all people, including sinners. I think that Jesus encouraged happiness and love. Why would he not celebrate life and try to connect with people who were having a parade? Also, Jesus never said anything about homosexuality. Paul was a bit of a judgmental and mean spirited person, compared to most of the others in the NT. I doubt that Paul would have joined in with a parade. He was rather dour for such a thing.

Yes, Jesus encouraged LOVE. but Jesus discouraged sin. Jesus would not march for the rights of homosexuals to have sex that is outside of God’s law and plan. Jesus DID indeed talk about marriage being between and man and woman. At no time did he mention that the uniting of man and man was acceptable.

Jesus would not march in a parade for the rights for anyone to sin, be it homosexuals, heterosexuals having sex outside of marriage, or women marching for the right to abort their children. He would, however, talk to them all, tell them He loved them, and then tell them to sin no more.

I would encourage you to re-read the epistles of Paul and compare them with what Jesus says in the Gospels. If anything, St. Paul softens things up a bit from what Jesus says.

👍

When they brought the woman to Jesus who had been caught in adultery, he said, let the one among you without sin cast the first stone. when the accusers had left, he did NOT say to the woman, let’s have a parade for you and others like you. He said, Go, and sin no more.

Seriously, how can someone be so disrespectful of Jesus as to try to make him into some mere social reformer who wants everyone to be happy? Jesus’ came down here, took human form, taught, and died on the cross, for our sins. Not so that Tom, Dick and Jane can do any ol’ thing the evil one has convinced them will make them feel better.

LG’s lifestyle notwithstanding, the thing that frightens me is that there are people out there who think the junk this person puts out is music.

When I see how low down this culture has gone to not even recognize the difference between music and noise matched to the frequency of hell, my heart just breaks.

I knew we were in deep doo doo when, in choir, we went from singing Handel’s Messiah, to “The Muppet Movie Medley”. I just never knew it would all get this bad.

To the OP: Honey, acquire a taste for good music. There’s so much out there better than that shallow garbage that passes for music. You are missing out on the real thing.

Anyways, since Lady Gaga is pro-gay, pro-abortion, am I obligated to not buy her music (that isn’t offensive in any way to God)? I think she does donate to pro-abortion groups…

If it’s sinful to buy her music, is it sinful to listen to her music on the radio, etc? What about watching interviews? Is anything to do with Lady Gaga sinful?
I don’t think we can describe her entire career with a simple yes or no. If there are songs with sinful messages, it could be sinful to buy those songs, unless they are inextricably bound to other songs that do not contain these kinds of messages. I think this scenario has been lessened significantly by iTunes and other legal online stores.

Now, as for buying her songs that do not contain sinful messages, I think that buying a song is remote enough from her (alleged?) donations to pro-abortion groups that the buyer is not culpable. Consider whether her CDs are more expensive than a comparably famous singer. If they are not, then her donations are simply coming out of her own pocket, and only remotely yours, since you in fact paid her for a legitimate service.

This is not to say that you can’t boycott her because of her views.

Good points…while I do enjoy her music, give me Mozart any day. Or a good Irish group. The Clancy Brothers are awesome… 🙂

Personally, I think boycotting a person based on their morals makes no sense. We’re all sinners really, and besides, what a person does on their personal time is their business. If you’re interested in her music, go for it.

I find it sad that people are so ignorant, God disproved of homosexuality. Jesus is God, I think the opinion is the same.

Wow. compared with some of the gangsta rap out there this is tame. As far as being JUNK? Well to each his own. Thats your opinion. Im a Metal Head myself, but as far as pop goes, shes actually very good. She got my attention. and she does have a fabulous voice. Ive been around a long time. I like music from the 40s to now. I hate the 90 music. THAT was JUNK. 😛 That however is MY opinion. Growing up in the 80s I had the best from the 60s and 70s, and today the kids are putting out some pretty good stuff. That NU Metal rocks!!

You are so right. unless you live like the amish, you are going to starve if you boycott every company and producer that is for something you oppose. I can name several of them. And most large companies have money from mexico flowing thru their coffers, so they are in a sense supporting the drug trade. 😛

How well does Lady Gaga and the lyrics of her songs hold up to the first two and 7th Commandments?
  1. I am the Lord your God: You shall not have strange Gods before me.
  2. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.
  3. You shall not commit adultery.
Same question for every one who tries to make money ignoring these Commandments.

So WHY should we give them OUR money for such violations?

Or can anyone make a reasoned case that such ‘entertainers’ do, in fact, bring us closer to God?

How bout Ode to JOY? This little tune celebrates secular humanism. So classical music is in no wise pure either. How bout the art work of davinci? veiled messages. That question the biblical account. Guess we shouldnt buy reprints of that either. No more Last Supper pics by this guy. 🤷

It is not at all “sinful,” so you say, to buy her music, nor listen to her music. The same for watching her interviews or associating with anything dealing with her. She is actually a really nice person and what she is doing is making art. She is an artist, just like men and women who sit in chairs painting portraits and those who sculpt clay into beautiful pieces of pottery. She is creating art through her music, videos, and personal style. Do not hate her, for she has done nothing to personally attack you. She has never singled you out of a crowd, since she does not know you and would never do that to a single person that she has no reason to. She is different, yes, but she is also talented, and many fail to see that.
