…actually I’m still at work, but today is my last day. This comes 10 days after being told I was going to stay on. So anyway, I put a bunch of purchases for CHristmas on my credit card, thinking I’d have this job for a little while longer.

…I signed up for unemployment, but I won’t get that much b/c I’ve been part time since August.

…I am continuing praying for a miracle to happen in our family. There are so many obstacles in our way. I can’t even go back to school because I owe money to release my transcripts. And my grad school transcripts are terrible.

I don’t know what is going to happen, and I know so many people are in the same boat or much worse. I feel ashamed for writing this, because I am not deserving of anything special. I am responsible for failing at life.

I just want things easier for my family. If you just say something inside your heart, that would be great. You don’t even have to post back. I appreciate it.

I know what you’re going through because my dh and I went through a similar mess. But God pulled us through it. Lay it all out before him and give him all you are and have, and he’ll provide. You have my prayers. :console:

Holy Michael the Archangel defend us in the day of battle.
Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host,
by the Power of God,
thrust down to hell satan and all the wicked spirits,
who wander through the world for the ruin of souls.
Amen.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession and was left forsaken. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you I come, before you I stand, a sorrowful sinner. Despise not my words, O Mother of the Word, but in your mercy, hear and answer me.
Amen

I have friends in Ohio. Are you near Springfield? What type of work are you seeking? I can ask them if they have any leads on your behalf.

WiccanWOman…interesting screen name…

Um, I am on the complete opposite side of the state from Springfield. I appreciate the offer. I need to find something withing 60 miles at the most b/c I need to be here for my dad.

Thank you again, and thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Saint Brother André. we celebrate your presence among us. Your loving friendship with Jesus, Mary and Joseph makes you a powerful intercessor with the Holy Father.

Compassion carries your words straight to God’s heart, and your prayers are answered and bring comfort and healing.

Through you, from our lips to God’s ear, our supplications are heard…

Please intercede for Norm640 who was laid off from his job.

We ask to be made a part of God’s work, alongside you, in the spirit of prayer, compassion and humility.

Saint Brother André, pray for us.

Amen.

Hi Norm,

I am so sorry that this happened to you.

I am especially sorry that it has happened during the holiday season, with Christmas coming soon.

You are not a failure. Try not to feel bad about your grades. You are not alone there. When I was an undergrad., I didn’t have some good grades, either. As I look back on those days, I should not have gone to college right after high school. I struggled with being there, and I felt kind of “lost” about what I was doing there, at the time. I wasn’t ready to go back then.

We are closest to the Lord when we suffer. He is there right beside us.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I now it’s hard, but stay strong. You have your health and your family, you will find a way out of this. I will remember you in my prayers.

You are not a failure at life. We all do the best we can with the cards we’re dealt.

I’ve heard it said that God’s strength is most apparent in our weakness; now is the time to trust in God’s strength, who knows even what each sparrow needs to get by, let alone one of us, who are so loved and blessed by Him.

I’ll be praying for you. Chin up…and at the very least, take a deep breath and do your best to enjoy your Christmas; God will provide, and you bought those presents in the faith that your needs were taken care of.

They still are. Don’t worry.

We hold you in our prayers, expecially that you will keep up your hope and faith to seek and pursue all opportunities and will remember the dangers of excess credit and insufficient saving. I was in similar situation years ago, also in Ohio, and a friend helped me find a good new job I would never have dreamed of applying for (zero experience). But reliability and trustworthiness are tremendous assets, and your friends can best testify for you. We pray you will call them all, and they will help.

Sorry to hear about that. I know that’s hard.

I’ll say a prayer for you.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Thank you all…I appreciate your kind words. Well, Christmas will be fun, I’ll make sure of that. I’m kind of worried about the January bills, but we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it. In a way I’m relieved I was laid off, because every day I’ve been waiting for our boss to lay me off, there have been rumors about it since August, and he is just one strange person. I mean, I was almost fired for wearing a cologne his wife liked…I needed the job, I did. But maybe there will be something better.

Thank you, again.

Hi Norm,

So sorry this happened right before Christmas, I will keep you in my prayers. I pray that God has something wonderful planned for you in the near future.

I’m praying for you, Norm. Hang in there. It will get better.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with Thee.
Blessed art Thou among women,
and Blessed is the Fruit
of Thy Womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection,
implored your help or sought your intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence,
I fly to you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother;
to you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in your mercy hear and answer me.
Amen.

Father of the fatherless, defender of widows
God in his holy abode,
God gives a home to the forsaken*(Ps 68:6-7)

Oh, I’m so sorry Norm. Honestly I wish there was something more than I could do for you, but the only thing I can do is tell you to hang in there, things will get better, they always do.
