Well, we don’t agree, but at least we’re both clear now.

Priest or not, I know precious few men sanctified to the point that they would not experience lustful temptations when confronted with an attractive woman behaving seductively. For me, at least, controlling temptation at my stage in life works best by avoiding the occasion of sin: no cable TV, wife knows better than to keep any Victoria’s Secret catalogs, etc…

I guess you ought to be glad I’M not a priest!

I wonder which way the church will rule? Stay tuned…

first off, lustful temptation is not the act of lusting. lust is an act, sexual attraction is not. sexual attraction to women is a gift from God. but when that attraction is distorted so that we seek sexual pleasure by objectifing women, it is lust.

so, being sexually atracted to a women is good. but letting that attraction turn to the seeking of sexual pleasure apart from its procreative and unitive function becomes disordered and gravely sinful.
