Which Latin Bible text is used in the Tridentine Mass? Nova Vulgata? Clementine Vulgate?
The Nova Vulgata did not start to appear until 1969, which means that it is not used in the Missale Romanum of 1962.Correct me if I’m wrong: the current Extraordinary Form uses the NV, though parishes with a special dispensation can use the Clementine Vulgata.
Ah, so Masses that are celebrated with the EF only use the 1962 missal? The Nova Vulgata did not start to appear until 1969, which means that it is not used in the Missale Romanum of 1962.
Summorum Pontificum stipulated the 1962 Missale Romanum so yes, by virtue of the motu proprio, that’s what should be used.Ah, so Masses that are celebrated with the EF only use the 1962 missal?
Correct. Not only does SP stipulate the 1962 Missal, but the indult granted by Pope John Paul II in Ecclesia Dei, also stipulated that Missal. To the best of my knowledge, it is the only Missal stipulated in post Vatican II documents on the use of EF of the Mass in these post conciliar times.Summorum Pontificum stipulated the 1962 Missale Romanum so yes, by virtue of the motu proprio, that’s what should be used.
A very good Bible
